Mabel, Eleanor, Georgia, & ...

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] berries!

I recently posted about girl names and have fallen, head over heels, in love with the names [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]. I love the spunky, vintage, British feel of these three names. Now, however, I’m struggling with finding boy names that match. I’m trying to build a beautiful sibset.*

I tend to like softer boy names with lots of history behind them. I’m just afraid that the names I love will lead to my boy being picked on. My list includes:
[name_m]Edmund[/name_m]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_m]Frederick[/name_m] ([name_u]Freddie[/name_u])
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m]
[name_u]Francis[/name_u]
[name_m]Louis[/name_m]
[name_u]August[/name_u]
[name_m]Philip[/name_m]

What do you think of these names? Which is your favorite? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any suggestions that go better with [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]?*

Thanks!
[name_f]Meg[/name_f]

You have wonderful taste in names! Mnay on your list are also my favourites!

I really love; [name]Henry[/name], [name]Frederick[/name], [name]Theodore[/name], [name]Arthur[/name], [name]Alexander[/name] and [name]Louis[/name] (prn Lou-EE)

Thank you so much, samjaymc! It’s always good to hear that somebody else loves the names that you love. I’m no longer able to talk names with my family and friends because they aren’t fans of my choices

I should have said, but forgot, that [name_m]Louis[/name_m] is pronounced [name_u]Lou[/name_u]-ee not [name_u]Lou[/name_u]-is.

Thanks, again!
[name_f]Meg[/name_f]

I really like your list! I can’t see a boy getting picked on for any of these names. If I had to pick my favorite names from your list they would be;
[name_m]Edmund[/name_m]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
[name_u]August[/name_u]
But this list is based purely off what appeals to me most so take it with a grain of salt. With [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Mable[/name_f], and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] I like [name_m]Edmund[/name_m], [name_m]Frederick[/name_m], and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] best. Personally I like [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] better in the sibset than alone oddly enough.

[name_f]May[/name_f] I just say that you have great taste in names. Most of your names are on my list so I can’t disapprove! My favourite boys are the top five you’ve given - [name_m]Edmund[/name_m], [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]Frederick[/name_m], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] - and I think they’d all go equally well with your girl picks.

Other suggestions:
[name_m]Albert[/name_m]/[name_m]Alfred[/name_m]
[name_m]Charles[/name_m]
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m]
[name_u]Toby[/name_u]

[name_u]Francis[/name_u] is a tip-top favourite of mine! It just sound great with ANYTHING!

Of your list I think [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] & [name_u]Francis[/name_u], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] & [name_u]August[/name_u] and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] & [name_m]Edmund[/name_m].

Similarish names off the top of my head are:
[name_m]Cyril[/name_m], [name_m]Edward[/name_m], [name_m]Rupert[/name_m], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], [name_m]Albert[/name_m], [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] [name_m]Basil[/name_m], [name_m]Rufus[/name_m], [name_m]Linus[/name_m], [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_m]Hamish[/name_m], [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], [name_m]Tennyson[/name_m], [name_m]Peter[/name_m], [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], [name_m]Cecil[/name_m], [name_m]Cedric[/name_m], [name_m]Benson[/name_m], [name_m]Harvey[/name_m], [name_m]Alastair[/name_m], [name_m]Clement[/name_m], [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m], [name_m]Fabian[/name_m], [name_m]Eugene[/name_m], [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], [name_m]Lloyd[/name_m], [name_m]Neville[/name_m], [name_m]Tobias[/name_m], [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m], [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u], [name_m]Dudley[/name_m] [name_m]Watson[/name_m] and [name_m]Winston[/name_m] !

[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] & [name_m]Harvey[/name_m], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] & [name_m]Fabian[/name_m], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] & [name_m]Clement[/name_m] and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] & [name_m]Albert[/name_m] are just twee!

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] that helps and doesn’t add to the fog!

Good luck! xox

(P.s. [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] all the way!!)

Thank you, averelladavina! I really appreciate your kind comments about my list. It’s nice to hear that you don’t see much teasing potential from these names  I agree about [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]. There’s just something about [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] and [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] that I keep coming back to!*

Hannlekitt, thanks! Like I said above, it’s so good to hear that others have the same taste as me. I’m no longer able to share with my family because of their disapproving comments. Thanks for sharing your opinions. From your suggestions, I love [name_m]Alfred[/name_m], [name_m]Charles[/name_m], and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]. I love [name_u]Bertie[/name_u], but could never name a son [name_m]Albert[/name_m] over a family joke

Thank you, jazminlilly! You’re opinions and suggestions are much appreciated. You’ve given me much to think about. [name_u]Francis[/name_u] is also a family name! From your suggestions, I love [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], and [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] I also love [name_m]Edward[/name_m], but it’s my uncle’s name; needless to say, he refuses to have a baby named [name_m]Edward[/name_m] :\ oh, and thanks for the comment about [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]!! Isn’t it just lovely?!?

Thanks, again!
[name_f]Meg[/name_f]

Hello! I was the suggester of [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], I’m so glad to see you’ve fallen in love with the names.

As for your boys’ names, I’m a fan of a variety of them, including [name_m]Frederick[/name_m], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], and [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]. I think that [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is probably the most obviously macho and common, with a variety of boyish nicknames that will probably slip their way in through friends and relatives.

My personal favorite of your list is [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]. Goes so well with the girls’ names you listed, and has that vintage, classic flair. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is a solid, strong combo.
If the soft, feminine sound is what you’re afraid of, I’d nix [name_u]Francis[/name_u], [name_m]Louis[/name_m], and [name_u]August[/name_u]. [name_u]Francis[/name_u] is close to [name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_m]Louis[/name_m] is close to the rising-in-popularity [name_f]Louise[/name_f], and [name_u]August[/name_u] is one of those ambiguous month names that I’ve heard on both.

Oh, bibliophile, I’m so thankful that you suggested [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]! I am in love

More than the soft feel, I am concerned about the names sounding feminine. As you may remember, I considered [name_f]Frances[/name_f] as a girls’ name! I don’t like the common touch that comes with [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], but I love the wide variety of nicknames.

[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is a gorgeous combo … I love it!

As of right now, I think I am down to [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], [name_m]Frederick[/name_m], [name_m]Edmund[/name_m], and [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], with [name_u]Francis[/name_u] and [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] as strong middle name contenders! [name_m]Louis[/name_m], for some reason, keeps coming up; I can’t seem to eliminate it for good, though. Maybe I could use it as a second middle name … maybe [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_u]Francis[/name_u] [name_m]Louis[/name_m] or [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] [name_m]Louis[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], for example?

Thanks so much!
[name_f]Meg[/name_f]

[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_u]Francis[/name_u] [name_m]Louis[/name_m] isn’t my favorite only because of the same -is ending (loo-iss, fran-ciss). I love [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_u]Louis[/name_u] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], though! [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] [name_u]Louis[/name_u] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is also a strong contender; I personally like [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_u]Louis[/name_u] a bit better.

I’m actually pronouncing [name_m]Louis[/name_m], [name_u]Lou[/name_u]-ee, so they won’t be ending in the same sounds just the same letters.

[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Louis[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is gorgeous, as is [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]Louis[/name_m]

Thanks, again, bibliophile!
