Mabel

[name]Do[/name] you like it? I think it is so cute and spunky. [name]Do[/name] you have any negative images when you say it?

I like it. Doesnt go with our last name so wouldnt be able to use it.

I’m not a big fan of [name]Mabel[/name], but I love [name]Maeve[/name], instead!

I love it

I love it. I also think it’s cute and spunky, and it’s wonderful. I also like that it has possible nickname of [name]Mae[/name], but [name]Mabel[/name] on its own is stunning

I really like tis name but when i mentioned it to my partner he said “its a fat girls name”. So its out for us.

I love [name]Mabel[/name]! So sweet, and also love the possibility of a ‘[name]May[/name]’ or ‘[name]Bella[/name]’ nickname.

[name]Every[/name] time I hear the name [name]Mabel[/name] I think of Mad About You. They named their baby [name]Mabel[/name], and it stood for Mothers Always Bring Extra [name]Love[/name]. I loved it then, and I love it now

I agree, [name]Mabel[/name] is very spunky, and it would be very unexpected (a good thing!), especially next all the Kaydens and Kaylees. The meaning - “lovable” - is great, too.

[name]Belle[/name] also works as a nickname…

It always makes me think of a pig and I don’t know why? Is there one in a children’s story?

A really sweet name!

I love [name]Mabel[/name]! If I had a daughter named [name]Mabel[/name] I would call her [name]Mab[/name] (it rhymes with tab) look it up on nameberry  when I was little I used to read fairy poems, [name]Mab[/name] the fairy queen showed up a lot. Something for your daughter to feel good about when she’s young:)

[name]Isabel[/name]

I love [name]Mabel[/name] and totally agree about [name]Mab[/name]. It was on my list for this baby (if he had not been so intent on being a boy).

It’s pretty, unpretentious, simple yet so rare. [name]Maeve[/name] (in my opinion) is a bit overdone at the moment, but [name]Mabel[/name] is so pretty and clever.

I love [name]Mabel[/name]. It’s such a pretty, interesting name! I actually really like the nn Maeby. That was [name]Alia[/name] Shawkat’s character’s nn on Arrested Development, though the character’s real name was actually [name]Mae[/name]. I always thought Maeby would be the perfect nn for [name]Mabel[/name], mostly because I find [name]Belle[/name] to be kind of drab and run-of-the-mill nowadays.

I considered the name [name]Mabel[/name] for awhile because it reminded me of Maeby from Arrested Development actually…it’s one of my favorite shows. =)

I think [name]Mabel[/name] is Adorable!

[name]Love[/name] it!

I agree that [name]Mabel[/name] is adorable, but the negative for me is that it seems a bit self-consciously quirky/funky, ala [name]Ruby[/name] and [name]Sadie[/name]. Cute yet…too cute? Like pink and orange polka-dotted socks.

I love the name [name]Mabel[/name]. It’s the name of [name]Minnie[/name] Driver’s character in An Ideal Husband, and she is just the right mix of cute and spunky. But I’ve always loved it: I named a teddy bear that when I was young.

Personally, I love the name - It has a beautiful vintage feel and can also use the nickname “ma belle” from the French phrase meaning “my beautiful”. I think that this name can be spunky, fun and energetic, and still contain that glamor girl image. Plus, this name is known, but not common. Teachers and friends will know how to pronounce this name, but she most likely won’t have to share it with another girl in her class.
