What are everyone’s thoughts on the name [name]Mabry[/name]? (may-bree) I would occasionally call her [name]Mae[/name], but mostly [name]Mabry[/name]. Also, what are some names that you think work well as a sister? I’m stuck when it comes to names that sound good with it. Thanks!

I love the name. However I think you should spell it Maebry. Otherwise people will always say Mah bry. Also can then be shortened to [name]Mae[/name].

Thanks everyone for your opinions! Hm Maebry seems to make a little more “sense” but it just looks pretty made up to me. I don’t think [name]Mabry[/name] would be a huge issue.
[name]LOVE[/name] [name]Nella[/name] and [name]Hattie[/name] with [name]Mabry[/name]! Those have been long time favorites of mine for awhile now, don’t know why I didn’t think of them together. They give me an old southern classy vibe (with a little bit of sassy!)

It’s a little close to the word Maybe to me, and I went to high school with someone who had this as a surname. I will concede it has a cute sound to it, it’s just not for me.

My daughter cheered with a girl whose last name is [name]Mabry[/name]. She goes by her last name a lot and shes always getting complaments on it. Its a very cute name and very original. You won’t find another little girl running around with the same name.
Ill know ill be the odd one out for saying this, but this name has always driven me nuts. It seems right up there with other Toddlers & Tiaras names like [name]Destiny[/name] and [name]Paisley[/name] and [name]Story[/name]. I know some people love these, but they really aren’t my style. The pronounciation has always seemed very close to “[name]Mayberry[/name]” which is less than ideal as well.
I like the suggestions of [name]Nellie[/name] and [name]Hattie[/name] as siblings. The cute classics would help balance out what I see as trendiness.

I had a student in my class with the name [name]Mabry[/name], named after her mother. However, she hated it and went by her middle name [name]Elise[/name]. [name]Sister[/name]'s name is [name]Abby[/name].
Maebry is lovely
[name]Mabry[/name] sounds cute until I remember that it’s the name of a rare inherited disease that causes mental retardation ([name]Mabry[/name] Syndrome). I guess parents who name their daughters [name]Addison[/name] don’t really care/or know about [name]Addison[/name]'s Disease. To me, [name]Mabry[/name] would be a great name for a little girl but I’m not sure if it would age well. We do live most of our lives as adults so it’s something to keep in mind.
