My husband and I really love the name [name]Mack[/name] but are worried that it may sound too curt with our last name (also one syllable). Is there a middle name that would work or possible a longer version of [name]Mac[/name] that works with our one syllable last name?
I agree with you about [name]Mack[/name] being to abrupt with a short last name.
Let’s see…
[name]MacArthur[/name]
[name]Macaulay[/name]
[name]Cormac[/name] (this would be my pick)
MacNeil/[name]McNeill[/name] (actually someone I know…He goes by [name]Mack[/name].)
I really think of [name]Mack[/name] as a nickname, so any Mc/[name]Mac[/name] name should do the trick!
On the nameberry search, you can search for boys’ names that start with Mc and with [name]Mac[/name] (not just with the first letter) and see what you come up with, as longer names that could lead to the very cute nickname [name]Mack[/name].
[name]Do[/name] what [name]Pam[/name] said! You’ll definitely find something there! By the way, I think [name]Mack[/name] is adorable!
My little cousin’s name is [name]MacLean[/name] (“Lean” is pronounced “[name]Lane[/name]”). I think that’s fairly cute, we call him [name]Mack[/name] and Macky. The suggestion [name]Cormac[/name] is great, and it doesn’t sound as trendy- I have a feeling all the Mc/[name]Mac[/name]-Somethings of today are going to end up with a date stamp further on.
i third cormac, but mack on its own is a solid name too in my opinion!
Ooooh I love [name]Cormac[/name]!
I do know a man named Macarain ([name]Mac[/name]-a-rin) and he goes by [name]Mac[/name].
[name]Macauley[/name] is my pick!
[name]Cormac[/name] is so great, and there’s also [name]Malcolm[/name] nn [name]Mac[/name] or [name]Mack[/name].
Aww, [name]Susan[/name] beat me with [name]Malcolm[/name], nn [name]Mac[/name]! My boys used [name]Mac[/name] as a nickname when they were younger, it’s the beginning of their last name though, so that’s why. I like the sound of it but then, I hear it all the time becuase of the surname.
I would definitely go with [name]Malcolm[/name] or [name]Cormac[/name] nn mac, since those won’t date as badly as any of the [name]Mac[/name]- names up front will.
Yup, all the Macks I know are Malcolms. (And [name]Malcolm[/name] is a strong, handsome name. [name]Love[/name] it.) [name]Cormac[/name]'s great too.
Oooh! [name]Malcolm[/name] is awesome!
You could also use a [name]Max[/name] name, such as [name]Maxwell[/name] or [name]Maxfield[/name].
[name]Anderson[/name]?
[name]Maverick[/name]?
