Have you heard ( or made yourself ) some names that just sound made up?
[name]Feel[/name] free to share them.
Names i’ve heard lately:
Delmoria
Zodaria
Chicaiti (pron. Shih - [name]Cay[/name] - tee) actually heard someone with this name.

I’ve never met someone with made up name just yet and I’m not fond of those names. I don’t understand it. If you want your baby to have special and unique names, there are lots and lots of unique names out there.
I completely agree with fleurdelis!! I am not fond of made up names either. I haven’t met of any recently, but I did meet a [name]Braxton[/name]/[name]Paxton[/name] twinset the other day
When I was like 12 years old I looooved the name Kesleigh, which I’m pretty sure I made up (or if it did already exist, I came to it independently). Fortunately I’ve gotten past that phase and now I’m not a big fan of made-up names or yooneek spellings.
I met a [name]Paxton[/name]! He is in his 40’s (at least) I just assumed it was a family surname or something since [name]Ive[/name] never heard it before
I had a neighbor named Agapito (ah-gah-pee-toe) once. No idea if it was made up or not, but it sure seemed that way to me.
Agapito is a Spanish name. Agape is a Greek term for platonic love (in contrast to eros, erotic love). In the original Greek of the new testament, where love is referred to, it is often the word agape. -ito is a Spanish suffix meaning “little one”, like, Pablito for [name]Pablo[/name], sort of like [name]Pauly[/name]/[name]Paul[/name].
Delmoria and Zodaria look plausible enough in non-English traditions, though I’m not sure. Delmoria = Maybe a feminine form of the surname [name]Delmore[/name]. Zodaria = [name]Daria[/name] I know has Persian roots, and a lot of Persian names start with Z, so maybe it’s somewhere in that family.
Chicaiti I don’t know, but it looks plausibly like a Native American name, maybe Mayan/Aztec as well.
I really don’t mind made up names particularly when they’re doing more than following trends. When they’re just following trends, it’s not my style, and I certainly feel sympathy if the person doesn’t like their own name, but I see no point in being too upset.
Well for a long time my mothers name was considered made up- my grandparents liked the word [name]Shell[/name] so they added a lane on the end
[name]Shellaine[/name]…with a stress on the [name]Shell[/name] part like the word shellac…
either way people always used to comment on her name “is that made up?!” when she was at the doctors or hair dressers…or meeting her for the first time…I am pretty sure people have that name now and it’s not considered made up…but I always thought it was nice.
All names were made up at some point. Some pretty recently like [name]Vanessa[/name]. So I think they are fine.
I like:
Shealee or Shealeigh (it’s [name]Shea[/name]+[name]Lee[/name], pronounced [name]SHAY[/name]-lee)
Evolet
Evalore
Avabelle
Avabella
Good Point [name]Destry[/name]…I mean in the Bible people were always being named because of something…
after a word already in their language so we all have “made up” names to some extent.
I thought I made up [name]Shayla[/name] until I saw it on nameberry. I also think [name]Marinda[/name] sounds pretty, even if it’s a mash of [name]Miranda[/name] and [name]Melinda[/name].
For some reason, from a very early age I’ve loved the nn [name]Kessie[/name] for a little girl. Other than a loose variation on [name]Kassandra[/name] though, I can’t really find a name that it would go with.
I do like the name Keslie/Kesaly (Kesalie/Kesaleigh/etc) - although I know it’s made up. I don’t think it sounds too far out there…but I guess I worry a bit what people might think about it.
[name]Ah[/name], when I was like 7, I had named my dolls totally yooneek names. This one I liked the most. I still think it’s kinda pretty xD: Septia. I was looking at a sepia-colored crayon. Oh, and my [name]Indian[/name] dolly: Mikake. That’s all I can think of.
Oh, Keppa, why not Kessabelle? I know, lol, it’s not a real name. xD
Friends named their baby boy [name]Zabe[/name] recently; they say they made it up.
My sister use to name all of her dolls [name]Jaycee[/name] which I was determined was a made up name, lol.
A woman in the neighbor hood I lived in in [name]Portland[/name] named her daughter [name]Elizabelle[/name] because she couldn’t choose between [name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Isabelle[/name]. And then she named her next daughter Nickimily a combination of [name]Nicole[/name], [name]Kimberly[/name], and [name]Emily[/name]; her three best friends.
I work in hospitals doing newborn photographs. Two names that have stood out were Sa’mariyah and Brizdy.
Oh, my husband and mom are both teachers and you wouldn’t believe the names they get. Abcde pronounced absidy (yes this is fairly popular), Kenyeti (nn [name]Isaac[/name]), [name]Bobby[/name] 1 and [name]Bobby[/name] 2 (twins), [name]Zachariah[/name] and [name]Zacharias[/name] (also twins. Not made up, but who does that?!), Anchestonique, Castle [name]Nate[/name] (pronounced Na-tay, a girl), Dasmine (a guy), [name]Dawn[/name]-[name]Unique[/name], and Mirakle. There are a lot more (some that are too long for me to even remember the spelling) but it’s late and I can’t remember them all.
Ooh a couple more I forgot. Female (pronounced fe-molly) and [name]Le[/name]-a pronounced le-dash-uh
[name]Le[/name]-a is a racist joke, not a real name.
Please don’t repeat it.
For more info, google: baby names, la-a, race, kegger
As far as I understand, there have been records of Ledashas but no [name]Le[/name]-as. “[name]Le[/name]-a” (or “La-a”) is just another urban legend stemming from a joke, as vickyintx said.
