Madeleine

[name]Do[/name] you consider [name]Madeleine[/name] to be a classic name, belonging among others such as [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Caroline[/name], [name]Eleanor[/name] or [name]Alice[/name], or do you think she has had her heyday when the [name]Madeline[/name] spelling was popular in the 1990s? [name]Madeleine[/name] is my favorite name and I think it is timeless but I wanted everyone’s opinions. Does she sound timeless or tired? Thanks.

I adore [name]Madeleine[/name]. I think it is an underused and timeless name.

As long as it is pronounced the correct way in french I would consider it timeless and somewhat classic. When mispronounced it seems to lose that.

I think [name]Madeleine[/name] is beautiful and very classic!

its great and i love the spelling you chose.

She’s one of the timeless beauties in my opinion!

[name]Madeleine[/name] is one of my favorite names!

Timeless and gorgeous!

[name]Madeleine[/name] is timeless and gorgeous to me, much prefer this spelling to any of the other variants.

I would say [name]Madeleine[/name] is classic but variations like [name]Madeline[/name] and [name]Madalyn[/name] are more trendy.

Thank you so much! I absolutely would only consider the [name]Madeleine[/name] spelling, which is predominant in the UK (where I grew up.) In that country, [name]Madeleine[/name] is pronounced just as Americans would pronounce “[name]Madelyn[/name]”. I much prefer this spelling and hope that my future daughter would not run into too many pronunciation problems!
