Please can you tell me whether you prefer the name [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] or [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]?
Thank you so much.
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]. It just looks more feminine and compete.
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]. Looks softer, sweeter and more complete.
I adore both. I slightly prefer [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f].
I want to add. I also prounce all three (including Madelyn) differently (LINE, LEN, LYN) and consider them three different names.
I prefer [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], too.
I pronounce both very differently from one another - [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] is Mad-eh-line (as in [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], or Lime) and [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] is Mad-eh-lenne, so for me it depends if you’re going for a particular spelling ([name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] is different again).
For sound though, I prefer [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f].
I much prefer [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f].
I like both, but [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] could have pronunciation problems, so my vote goes to [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]
I say [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] as Mad-uh-line and [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] as Mad-uh-len. I prefer [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] as I like the sound of the -len ending more. It sounds sophisticated and prettier in my opinion.
I love [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] with the -line ending, not as much when pronounced the same as [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f]. But my favorite is [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] (ehn).
I prefer the look and sound of [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f].
I prefer [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] to [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], and currently, [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] to both, because in the case of this name, the phonetic spelling helps. [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] is how I personally pronounce [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], but am not sure if I am right. [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] is confusing, as people all say it differently. [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] looks the most stylish, followed by [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] - in my opinion, I mean.
I prefer [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] in sound and in spelling.
I prefer [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] (pronounced Mad-eh-line).
I prefer [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] and I prefer the mad-eh-line pronunciation vs. the mad-eh-lyn pronunciation. If I were going for the latter then yes, I’d spell it [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f].
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]… love it!
I like all 3 options of [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], and [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f]. [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] is my favorite spelling, but [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] is the more popular spelling I’ve seen. I pronounce them all “Mad-uh-lyn.” [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] “Mad-uh-lyn” the Starbucks cookies. Also [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] “Mad-uh-line” the [name_m]French[/name_m] story books with the 12 girls in 2 straight lines.
It depends on how you are pronouncing them:
[name_f]Madeline[/name_f] is ‘line’ pronunciation like [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]. If you are not pronouncing it like that then it will be very confusing and you should use [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f].
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] is the most straightforward pronunciation and the classic form - ‘luhn’.
I generally prefer [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], though I also like [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] if it’s pronounced like [name_f]Caroline[/name_f].
[name_f]Madelyn[/name_f], which some pps have raised, just doesn’t have the same class to me.
Definitely [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f].
