Madeline vs Madeleine?

Which do you prefer more, [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] or [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]? And why? Thank you.

In English [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], in [name_m]French[/name_m] [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]. Iā€™m not a fan if lyn endings and [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], when pronounced mad-e-len, is a tad too close. [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] has a line ending for me.

I think [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] is beautiful written down. However, Iā€™ve never been sure which pronunciation belongs to which [name_f]Madel[/name_f]- name, so I canā€™t really comment on that except that I find the -line pronunciation prettier.

I personally like [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] more. I feel like [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] looks incomplete without that extra e in it. I feel like [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] is complete, and has a more European look.

I adore both. I slightly prefer the pronunciation of [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] myself, whether it is pronounced [name_f]LINE[/name_f] or [name_u]LYNN[/name_u]. Iā€™m not entirely sure why - I just like the EI in there.

[name_f]Madeline[/name_f] is better. [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] is too royal for me (Swedish princess) and also [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] is less common and sounds softer/prettier

I will always love [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] because of the childrenā€™s books. So thatā€™s my favorite (and I pronounce it with the line ending, not len or lyn). But I also really like [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] with the [name_m]French[/name_m] Mad-uh-len pronunciation as well. You canā€™t go wrong!

[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], because its like the story book

I prefer [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], but dislike -line pronunciation, so I vote for [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] pronounced Mad-elehn.

I am using [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] pronounced [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] to honour my grandmother. I also think that [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] looks nicer written down, the extra ā€˜eā€™ in [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] is a bit too much for me. The only other spelling I like is [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f].

I adore the -lehn ending of [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], and the spelling seems much prettier than [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] (even though itā€™s only one letter difference!).

[name_f]Madeline[/name_f] is to tied to the childrenā€™s cartoon to me. When I say the name aloud, the theme song goes through my head.

[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] looks prettier when written

I prefer [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]. It looks prettier, and the pronunciation is much better than the [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] one.

I prefer the look of [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] but the pronunciation of [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]ā€¦ in the end I think [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] wins but just by a tad.

I know a few [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]'s and they all prn it Mad uh luhn. I also know a [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f].

[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] by far.

I prefer the chic and sophisticated [name_m]French[/name_m] spelling of [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] (ma-duh-[name_m]LEN[/name_m]). The extra ā€œeā€ just makes the name more stunning in my opinion.

Definitely ā€˜[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]ā€™, itā€™s beautiful, I like others feel like [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] is incomplete.

I much prefer [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] both pronounciation and spelling.
