The title basically says it all. We haven’t found a girl name we like more than [name]Mae[/name], but our favorite boy name is absolutely [name]Jude[/name]. We’re worried that if we use [name]Mae[/name] now, we won’t be able to name a future son [name]Jude[/name] because it would sound too much like the months [name]May[/name] and [name]June[/name]. [name]Do[/name] you think this is an issue?
When I read the title, I tried to figure out why you couldn’t use [name]Jude[/name] for a boy with big sister [name]Mae[/name] and I couldn’t figure it out. Now that I’ve read your explanation, I see your point, but I don’t think I would make that connection on my own.
I, like catheyc, was confused when I read the title. I think [name]Mae[/name] and [name]Jude[/name] could be siblings. They sound similar to [name]May[/name] and [name]June[/name], but how often are childrens names said together? I don’t think it’s a big enough deal to pass up [name]Mae[/name] (which is so pretty) or [name]Jude[/name] (which is so handsome!)

I was confused too. I never would have thought of [name]May[/name] and [name]June[/name] on my own I think it’s fine and goes together fine.
I’m so glad that none of you made that connection! It was one of the first things that came to mind when I said the names together, but if no one else thinks it is an issue then I won’t let it bother me
I say maybe a longer form of [name]Mae[/name], use [name]Mae[/name] as a nickname? You get [name]Mae[/name], but don’t get the strong month association.
I agree completely! I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what was wrong with [name]Mae[/name] and [name]Jude[/name]. I thought maybe it was an unwanted Beatles association (Hey, [name]Jude[/name] and [name]Maggie[/name] [name]Mae[/name]) or something, lol. I think [name]Mae[/name] and [name]Jude[/name] are fine (actually lovely!) together.
I didn’t recognize the connection either. I do think of [name]Mae[/name] as more of a nickname though, it might be nicer for her to have a fuller name later on, but that’s just my opinion…
[name]Count[/name] me as someone else who couldn’t figure out the connection. I also thought it had something to do with the Beatles! And I think you’re getting ahead of yourself. If you have a girl named [name]Mae[/name], it’s only a 50/50 chance the next will be a boy, and I think a girl’s name between [name]Mae[/name] and [name]Jude[/name] would void any concern you have, entirely. Now if you had an [name]April[/name], [name]Mae[/name] and then [name]Jude[/name], only then would I begin to be concerned.
I honestly think [name]Mae[/name] and [name]Jude[/name] are adorable together, and make a perfect sibset!
That’s hardly an issue imo. I doubt anyone will think of that connection. [name]Mae[/name] and [name]Jude[/name] is fine as a sibset.
I made the connection, but I don’t see any problem with it. It’s not as if you’re proposing naming two girls [name]May[/name] and [name]June[/name]!!
I did get [name]May[/name] and [name]June[/name] when I saw your post but I decided that [name]Mae[/name] and [name]Jude[/name] were so lovely together that I didn’t care!
I guess I’m in the minority here, I did pick up on the connection right when I read the title. I think it would bother me too much; I tried saying the names out loud to my self and kept messing up and saying [name]June[/name]. [name]Even[/name] when I did say them right [name]Mae[/name] and [name]Jude[/name], it made me think of trying to say [name]June[/name] with a stuffy nose. That’s just me tho, apparently I’m weird. If it doesn’t bother you, go for it.
I didn’t get the connection. [name]Mae[/name] and [name]Jude[/name] are great together, by all means go for it:)
I did make the connection but I don’t think it is too much of a problem. Especially written out since you are using the spelling [name]Mae[/name] instead of [name]May[/name].
Doesn’t sound like a problem to me
I won’t lie, I do keep hearing [name]May[/name] and [name]June[/name] when I say it out loud. However, I don’t think it’s a big deal. What about using a longer name and using [name]Mae[/name] as a nickname? [name]Mabel[/name] and [name]Jude[/name]? I think [name]Mae[/name] and [name]Jude[/name] are very cute.
