I’m currently daydreaming about names for a hypothetical sister for my daughter, [name_f]Maeve[/name_f].
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think the common V sounds in [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_f]Vera[/name_f] would be too much?

I really like the name [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]. But paired with [name_f]Vera[/name_f] like you said it’s too much V sounds. Off the top of my head I can’t think of any alternative names.
I honestly think it’s not a problem. [name_f]Vera[/name_f] is a gorgeous name and just one V sound doesn’t make it ridiculously close to [name_f]Maeve[/name_f].
I also think parents should concentrate more on choosing names they love and our meaningful than go crazy and be frustrated because the names don’t match and such. Your kids won’t live in the same home forever.
There is nothing to worry about, the sound lovely together.
They sound fine together, but if it ends up a problem, here are some ideas:
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] & [name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] & [name_f]Maura[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] & [name_f]Britta[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] & [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] & [name_f]Ella[/name_f]
I think these names are a) gorgeous and b) gorgeous together!
I think they are great together!
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] is stunning. [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_f]Vera[/name_f] are wonderful together.
Personally I think they’re too close, mostly because they’re just tricky to say together quickly.
I like both of these names. I think that [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_f]Vera[/name_f] work well together as sisters.
I don’t love [name_f]Vera[/name_f], but objectively I don’t see any problem with using it next to [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]. Them both having V in them doesn’t bother me at all.
My stepdaughter is a Méabh too, so I’ve doing a lot of hypothetical baby naming too I’m personally not a fan of [name_f]Vera[/name_f] with [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], it does seem a little V heavy. But I also don’t care much for [name_f]Vera[/name_f] so that’s probably mostly it! Sorry…
Some of our sister sib-sets for our girls Méabh and [name_f]Freya[/name_f] have included:
[name_f]Caoimhe[/name_f] (’[name_u]Keeva[/name_u]’ or ‘Kweeva’)
[name_f]Mila[/name_f]
Maike (My-ka)
[name_u]Finley[/name_u]
[name_u]Seren[/name_u]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] (Leera)
[name_u]Fallon[/name_u]
[name_f]Rois[/name_f]ín ([name_f]Ro[/name_f]-sheen)
Esmé
They sound really nice together! [name_u]Love[/name_u] it!
Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I’m still in the very early stages of daydreaming. [name_f]Vera[/name_f] has only recently grown on me, and I kind of like it with [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]. Other random names that I like are [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Ottoline[/name_f] and [name_f]Jemima[/name_f], but I haven’t given any of them serious thought yet
