I’ve been considering adding the name(s) [name]Maeve[/name] and / or [name]Maeva[/name] to my list.
[name]Maeve[/name] - I love the sound of this name. However, it reminds me of the word mauve, and I personally dislike that color. I know that’s kind of a weird association… so should I add [name]Maeve[/name] to my list regardless of it?
[name]Maeva[/name] - When I first saw this name, I thought it looked sort of awkward… but it’s been growing on me. [name]Do[/name] you think it’s useable? Is it a good alterative to [name]Maeve[/name]?
Personally I prefer [name]Maeve[/name] just because it is fresh, gorgeous and straight to the point compared to [name]Maeva[/name]. Although it looks similar to mauve, the sound is lilting enough that probably most people won’t get the connection. However if you still don’t like the connection and it is holding you back [name]Maeva[/name] can work.
Have you considered [name]Niamh[/name]/[name]Neve[/name]?

I like both a lot. It’s a matter of French vs. Irish forms of the same name. So, I guess the determining factor for me would be how well each sounds/looks with the surname and how well it works with the selected middle name.
I’m not sure the prn of maëva would go over very well here since its more like “my vah” or “mah eh vah” sorry I’m really bad with phonetic prn so you can listen on forvo.com for a better example
I like [name]Maeve[/name] a lot more. I’m pretty sure that [name]Maeva[/name] is an invented variation, and while it sounds pretty, it isn’t as nice as the legitimate, magical [name]Maeve[/name].
