What are your thoughts on this name…is it too off the beaten path or old lady? Can we use it even if we’re not Irish?
What about using it with a 1 syllable last name like [name_m]Smith[/name_m]? Would that be too short to pair together?
Thanks!

I think [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is a beautiful name. It’s not too uncommon and it’s not “old lady” at all in my eyes. I’ve seen heaps of people use it who weren’t Irish and don’t think that’s an issue.
It is rather abrupt paired with a one syllable surname.
I don’t think it’s old lady at all. [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is beautiful
I think it’s fine with a short last name. So many people have 1 syllable first and last names and no one bats an eye. I think paired with a longer middle name, it’d be beautiful.
Not sure your style but something like
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_u]Emerson[/name_u]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Annelise[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] charlotte
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]
Gorgeous and just fine with a one-syllable surname
I think [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is a beautiful name! I love how simple and sweet it sounds and that it’s elegant, feminine and classy. It’s a gorgoeus name!
I really like [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]. I don’t see it as sounding old-fashioned, and I think it would work fine with a one-syllable surname. Irish names like [name_m]Kevin[/name_m] and [name_f]Eileen[/name_f] are used by people with no Irish connections, so I don’t see why there would be an issue with [name_f]Maeve[/name_f].
Gorgeous name. Not old lady or too unusual at all. I think it’s fine with a one syllable last name, as long as it doesn’t repeat the long A vowel or other sounds. I would just choose a longer middle name so it flows.
If you’re worried about the choppiness, you could consider [name_f]Maeva[/name_f]?
I think [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is lovely! It ranked #450 last year, so it’s not off the beaten path. I think it’s fine to use it with a one-syllable surname and even though you’re not Irish. I’d definitely recommend a long middle name though.
Thanks! I think a long middle name certainly makes sense. Maybe something more common if I’m worried about [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] being too obscure. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] are already names in the family. Any other suggestions?
I love [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and think it’s beautiful. [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m], for example, is a fine name too.
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is absolutely beautiful!
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is gorgeous! I don’t find it old ladyish at all. [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] works fine because even though they are both one syllable [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is not a common name unlike [name_m]Smith[/name_m].
For her middle name I think go with a 3 or 4 syllable middle name because she has a short first and last.
