Once upon a time, you were a mafia lord…

You LOVE your family and would do anything to protect them. That means that every now and then, after you’ve been caught doing some illegal business or whatever, you’ve had to pack up and flee—sometimes to a new city, sometimes to a new state, sometimes to a whole new country! In other words, you’ve gotten very good at faking documents. So good, in fact, that your family has never gotten caught.

The key?

Inconsistency.

Oh, and did I mention? Y’all are immortal beings, and gender swapping is normal! You can literally gender-swap on any roll.

At the roll of a D12 die, select ONE method to give everyone a name makeover. That’s right, just ONE METHOD to change the family’s last name and everybody’s first and middle.

And don’t forget!

Make a note of which method you used (with an explanation as needed; see the examples) so the next poster uses something different.

Here are the methods:

1: Make it more elegant!

2: Switch to a nearby country of origin!

3: Make it more plain.

4: Morph with another name of your choice!

5: Starts with the same letter/prefix/sound.

6: Ends with the same letter/suffix/sound.

7: Same color/vibe/personality.

8: Similar meaning.

9: Completely different/opposite meaning.

10: Change the time period.

11: Make it sci-fi/fantasy!

12: Change the genre to one of your choice!

Here are some examples!

1: Make it more elegant! (ex. Klaus → Clandestine!)

2: Switch to a nearby country of origin! (Klaus → Mikołaj or Klaus → Claude) (German to Polish or German to French)

3: Make it more plain. (Klaus → Kim)

4: Morph with another name of your choice. (Klaus → Klausen or Klaus → Ausrick) (Klaus + en like Jensen or Aus + rick like Frederick)

5: Starts with the same letter/prefix/sound. (Klaus → Kristopher or Klaus → Klaudia)

6: Ends with the same suffix/sound. (Klaus → Strauss or Klaus → Silas)

7: Same color/vibe/personality. (Klaus → Vincent)

8: Similar meaning. (Klaus → Kole) (meaning: victory of the people)

9: Completely different/opposite meaning. (Klaus → Desdemona) (meaning: victory of the people → ill-fated)

10: Change the time period. (Klaus → Bailey)

11: Make it sci-fi/fantasy! (Klaus → Kess)

12: Change the genre to one of your choice! (Klaus → Clover) (dark academia → unique nature)

I’ve had a thought… we could make this easier by rolling just ONCE to change ALL the names, instead of rolling for every single name.
