Magnolia nn Meg

Lately, I’ve been crushing on the nickname [name]Meg[/name]. Short, simple, and spunky with a literary reference. However, I doubt it will age well as a full name, and being a '90s kid [name]Megan[/name] is so overused. Though I like it’s history and nicknames, [name]Margaret[/name] doesn’t sound too nice to me as a full name.

I recently was thinking about [name]Magnolia[/name], a name I like but none of the nicknames really click. Is it too much of a stretch for the nickname [name]Meg[/name]? Although I know it is not related at all, [name]Margaret[/name] turned to [name]Maggie[/name] and then to [name]Meggie[/name]/[name]Meg[/name]. Since of the [name]Mag[/name] in [name]Magnolia[/name], it makes sense to me for that to turn to [name]Meg[/name].

If it is too much of a stretch, what are some other unusual ways to get [name]Meg[/name]?

I don’t think it is to much of a stretch. I have always liked the nn [name]Meg[/name], and I love [name]Magnolia[/name]!

I’ve seen bigger stretches but I wouldn’t say it’s a natural nn. To me [name]Maggie[/name] would be more of a natural nn. At least with [name]Margaret[/name] there’s an E in there somehwere although [name]Meg[/name] is probably just as big of a stretch for that one too. I can’t really think of anything besides just using [name]Meg[/name].

I agree with this. [name]Meg[/name] seems kind of boring as a nickname for [name]Magnolia[/name] (but interesting with [name]Margaret[/name], lol). [name]Meg[/name] lacks the spunk and pizzazz that [name]Magnolia[/name] has.
