Magnolia nn Mia?

[name]Hi[/name], guys! What does everyone think of the name [name]Magnolia[/name]? The name would be SUPER significant to me, which is why I’m starting to like it a lot. [name]Do[/name] you think it is a little too much for a first name? I would definitely want a nickname for it. I feel like [name]Maggie[/name] would be the most natural, but I’m not the biggest fan of [name]Maggie[/name] (even though it is really cute). [name]Do[/name] you think [name]Mia[/name] works as a nickname for [name]Magnolia[/name]?

Also, what are some good middle names to go with [name]Magnolia[/name]? So far I like [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Jane[/name] and [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Sophie[/name].

Or do you think [name]Magnolia[/name] would work better as a middle name?

Thanks!!!

I love the name [name]Magnolia[/name] but I think [name]Mia[/name] is too much a stretch for a nickname. Have you considered [name]Nola[/name] or [name]Lia[/name] (leah)? I feel that those two, along with [name]Maggie[/name], are the most natural.

[name]Magnolia[/name] is a lovely, relaxed beauty of a name. [name]Mia[/name] as a nickname isn’t a big stretch, but I second [name]Pansy[/name]'s recommendation for the nickname [name]Nola[/name] (or even [name]Nolie[/name] or [name]Leigh[/name]) It’s much more unique than chart-topper [name]Mia[/name].

I think [name]Mia[/name] totally works for [name]Magnolia[/name] (it’s popular for [name]Amelia[/name], and that seems like just as much of a “stretch”). I agree with the other posters, however, that [name]Nolie[/name], [name]Nola[/name], and [name]Lee[/name] would work well, too.

I think [name]Magnolia[/name] is fantastic, and I can’t believe more people aren’t using it! I think [name]Mia[/name] is fine, but I like [name]Lia[/name] better

Totally fine for me, especially because [name]Magnolia[/name] is started with M and ended with -ia. [name]Mia[/name] will be a cute nickname.

That’s a huge stretch. [name]Lia[/name], [name]Nolie[/name] or [name]Nola[/name] make more sense
I think a one-syllable mn would be best

[name]How[/name] is [name]Mia[/name] “ME-ah” a stretch for [name]Amelia[/name] “ah-ME-lia”?

seconded!!

Thirded!

I love [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Jane[/name], but for other mn ideas:

[name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
[name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Dawn[/name]
[name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Bliss[/name]
[name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Kate[/name]
[name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Faith[/name]

I think [name]Mia[/name] would be fine, I see bigger stretches on a regular basis that work well. I think [name]Maggie[/name] or [name]Nola[/name] would be more distinctive and do the name more justice, though!

I like [name]Magnolia[/name]! It’s a great alternative to [name]Margaret[/name]. [name]Mia[/name] would be a great nickname. I like [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]June[/name], that would be pretty.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone! Hm… Bummer to see a lot of people seem to think [name]Mia[/name] is too much of a stretch. [name]Nolie[/name] and [name]Maggie[/name] are both really cute, though :-). Also, thanks for the middle name suggestions! I really love [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]June[/name]! I’m not sure if I prefer [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]June[/name] or [name]Jane[/name].

Thanks again, guys! Any other thoughts or middle name suggestions?

I really like [name]Magnolia[/name] nn [name]Mia[/name]! I like it a lot better than most options (although [name]Maggie[/name] and [name]Lia[/name] are cute). The only option I might like more is [name]Magnolia[/name] nn [name]Lola[/name]. I really like both [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Jane[/name] and [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Sophie[/name].

I love [name]Magnolia[/name], it’s on my list. [name]Mia[/name] doesn’t seem like too much of a stretch for a nn to me, but I don’t like it.

i love magnolia! it’s significant to me as well, as i’m from mississippi  i like maggie a little. my favorite NN is noli. i think mia could work, altho i see it as it’s own name. possibly mae. my favorite combo is magnolia jane

I really like [name]Magnolia[/name], but I think [name]Mia[/name] as a nickname is a wee bit of a stretch. I like [name]Nola[/name] or [name]Lia[/name] or even [name]Maggie[/name] more.
[name]Hope[/name] that helps!

[name]LOVE[/name] [name]Magnolia[/name]!

I don’t personally like [name]Mia[/name] as a nickname. I also prefer [name]Noli[/name], [name]Nola[/name], Li, [name]Lia[/name]. [name]Mia[/name] does sound like a bit of a stretch to me. As one of the posters above also said, [name]Mia[/name] seems like a stand-alone name to me.

However, that being said, I also believe that if you really love the nn [name]Mia[/name] for [name]Magnolia[/name], you should go for it!

Re: middle names - I really like the [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]June[/name] combo that was suggested above.

I think that [name]Mia[/name] could definitely work as a nickname! I don’t see it as a stretch at all. I also love the name [name]Magnolia[/name] but for some reason am not as big on [name]Nola[/name] or [name]Maggie[/name]. I think [name]Lia[/name] would be nice too. Someone above suggested [name]Lola[/name], which does seem like a bit of a stretch, but I like it! I love [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]June[/name] nn [name]Mia[/name] =]

I [name]LOVE[/name] the name [name]Magnolia[/name] - but also love [name]Maggie[/name], [name]Nola[/name] or [name]Nolia[/name]. personally I feel mia is a bit of stretch and kinda plain.

[name]Magnolia[/name] is a lovely name - I agree that [name]Lia[/name] is probably a better NN than [name]Mia[/name] and actually more unusual and prettier to my ears. And [name]Lola[/name] is also a nice choice

As for a middle name, I’m struggling, but [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Jane[/name] sounds good - have you considered [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Jayne[/name]?
