My favorite is [name_m]Magnus[/name_m], though I am biased since it’s one of my own top picks! I love [name_m]Magnus[/name_m]’ rough and tumble image, and strength. It’s also got a quirky angle to it, and I like that it doesn’t need a nickname, though [name_f]Mag[/name_f] or [name_u]Max[/name_u] works for that. [name_m]Magnus[/name_m] [name_m]Robert[/name_m] sounds great together!
With your other favorites, I like the idea of [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m]. I’m considering him as a middle name, not sure I could do it as a first personally, but I think it is really handsome and jaunty/playful sounding. Alliteration isn’t always my thing, but [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] [name_m]Robert[/name_m] works out beautifully.
[name_u]River[/name_u] is nice, definitely fits your style, but I don’t like it as much as the other two options.
[name_m]Magnus[/name_m] [name_m]Robert[/name_m] and [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] [name_m]Robert[/name_m] both sound great for different reasons; the [name_m]Magnus[/name_m] combo is quite stately while modern (especially lends some more strength to the more casual/feminine side of your last name), and the [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] combo sounds sweet and poetic but still sensible, and very interesting.
My reservations about [name_u]River[/name_u] are firstly that the combined alliteration/assonance/etc. of [name_u]River[/name_u] [name_m]Robert[/name_m] is just a little too cartoony and distracting. Besides, I tend to think of [name_u]River[/name_u] as somewhat feminine, and I think it would take a more phonetically distinctive masculine middle to really ground it as a boy’s name, again especially when combined with the more soft and feminine sound of [name_f]Kimmie[/name_f].
I think the repeating sounds of [name_m]Maximus[/name_m] with your last are just a little tongue-twisty. But if it’s [name_u]Max[/name_u] day-to-day, that sounds quite sweet with your last name. I’d rank that below [name_m]Magnus[/name_m]/[name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] and above [name_u]River[/name_u].
I like [name_m]Magnus[/name_m] and [name_m]Maximus[/name_m] with your surname. [name_u]River[/name_u] and [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] are trendy and ill-suited.
[name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Magnus[/name_m]! It’s strong, dynamic and full of character, and [name_u]Max[/name_u] is indeed awesome with your surname.
[name_u]River[/name_u] and [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] are both fantastic too. I especially like the alliteration with [name_m]Robert[/name_m] in the middle. Of the two, [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] would be my pick because I love all of the potential shortenings (how do you feel about [name_u]Rafe[/name_u], my personal fave?) but [name_u]River[/name_u] definitely fits too and suits your style well.
I like [name_u]River[/name_u].
