Our surname is derived from this name and my husband sometimes uses it as a screen name. Our surname sounds like “mantis” minus the T. So, is [name_m]Magnus[/name_m] “Mantis” too much? Thoughts on [name_m]Magnus[/name_m] otherwise? Aesthetic? What kind of guy is he?

I like it! It reminds me of [name_m]Magnus[/name_m] [name_u]Chase[/name_u], which I love the books… so I would go for it!

They share the same sounds and that makes them also rhyme, so too much, I think. Sorry, as I love [name_m]Magnus[/name_m].

I think with that last name it’s too much. They’re way too similar.

I love [name_m]Magnus[/name_m], it’s the name of my favorite student I had, but I think it’s too similar to your last name since they both start AND end with the same sound :confused: You could still do it if you really love it, but I would personally look for another name.

[name_m]Magnus[/name_m] is a very cool nice - it’s strong and rugged - icy forests or rocky mountains. There’s a wise feeling to it too and I like how it offers the nn [name_u]Gus[/name_u] and [name_f]Mags[/name_f] - or, depending on his personality, [name_u]Magic[/name_u], [name_f]Maggy[/name_f] or [name_u]Maz[/name_u] might work too.

However, I do this it sounds a bit much with your surname, especially since the surname is derived from the name

I think it’s too close and will mean a lot of queries for clarification. It also gives me a bad vibe - which I know isn’t super constructive but it reminds me of a villain’s name, and I’m saying this as someone who likes [name_m]Magnus[/name_m] generally!
