Maisie Kate or Charlotte Eve?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone, we have been struggling on a girls name, [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is a name we have had and loved for ages. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is a new name that we have thought of and also love. Our name if the baby is a boy has been set in stone since the start and that is [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_u]Kye[/name_u], so we would really like to get the name sorted if the baby is a girl

Both of these names have aspects that we are not 100% with.

[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] seems a little childish (though we might make the legal name [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]) and we don’t like nicknames for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f].

[name_m]Feel[/name_m] free to suggest any names, we like classic names with one syllable middle names.

Thank you

[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is a little too childish and sing songy for me. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is beautiful, and people won’t nickname [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] unless you prompt it most likely, although I do love [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]

Charlotte Eve is beautiful! I’ve met a number of Charlottes who use no nickname

A couple of suggestions would be:
Emily Kate
Josephine Mae/Kate ‘Josie’
Madeline Rose

I adore [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. If this baby is a girl and in the future you have a boy, I personally prefer [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_m]William[/name_m]…or [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and [name_m]William[/name_m]. We do not watch much tv, actually barely any, here but all I picture with [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]/[name_f]Maisy[/name_f] is the mouse and this makes it feel too child like and cutesy.

I love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]! None of the Charlottes I know use a nickname.

Other names with a similar vibe:
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellen[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]

I know I’m in the minority, but I love [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]! [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is adorable and I think could grow with her. [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] nn [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] is nice too!
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] could have nn [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] or [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] but doesn’t have to have a nn. It’s a lovely name though much more popular than [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]/[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]

I think they’re both lovely names, and I also don’t think your issues are something to be worried about. I know of a handful of Maisies, who are just [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]. I think it’s a lovely, wearable full name, and I also think you should call her [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] and not [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] if you always intend for her to be [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]. Also with [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], you can just call her [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and leave it at that. I know at least 5 who are just [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], and only 1 who goes by [name_u]Charlie[/name_u].

To answer your question, my favourite is [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]. So sweet!

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is beautiful.

I’m not fond of [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]; for me it’s both childish & too cutesy. If you really love it, though, I think you should use it as a nickname for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]/[name_f]Margot[/name_f]/[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f]/something similar so that as she grows, she has options if she wants a more formal name.

Like you, I’m not crazy about any of the standard nicknames for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]…but [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] itself is pretty & classic. As others have said, most Charlottes don’t use nicknames, at least the ones I’ve met.

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is so gorgeous. [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], perfect for a pre-K sing-along, is such a different genre from [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]! I can see how it seems a little nickname-y and maybe childish, but there are plenty of adults with names like [name_f]Molly[/name_f], [name_u]Abby[/name_u], [name_u]Julie[/name_u], and [name_u]Laurie[/name_u]. Maybe it would seem a little less cutesy if you paired it with a more sophisticated middle name? Something like [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], or [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f].

Both good names but I like [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] best.

[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is my favorite. I don’t find it childish in the least. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is also pretty, I just prefer [name_f]Maisie[/name_f].

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is far more elegant and much prettier, imo. If you don’t like the nicknames for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] (I understand, I don’t either), then just insist that her name is [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] not [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] or [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] or anything else. My parents did this with me (everyone tries to shorten my name and always has) and so everyone calls me by my full name. It can be done!

[name_f]Katherine[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]

[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] nn [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] is swoon worthy! I would go with that. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is so common (although it is beautiful!). I’m kind of tired of it lately.

[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] also strikes me as too cutesy, but I think especially because it’s paired with [name_f]Kate[/name_f]… [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] as the nn with the full names [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] or [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] I think are both lovely and give her more options.

But [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is beautiful and the easiest to wear. I don’t think [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] usually gets nicknamed (I’m from the US). Or did I misunderstand and the problem is you want a nn you like?

I love [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] - I’m surprised at the feedback.
What about [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] nn [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]? I love that!

I prefer Charlottle [name_f]Eve[/name_f] over [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], however if you use [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], I would prefer [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], nickname [name_f]Maisie[/name_f].

My very first choice would be [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f], nicname [name_f]Margot[/name_f].

I’m starting to dislike [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] (mainly because this name is overused) so i pick [name_f]Maisie[/name_f].

I agree that [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is a little childish, but I think [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is stunning.

[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is good, but I still prefer [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]. Also [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the suggestion of [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f].
