Your thoughts on [name]Maisie[/name]? Can it stand alone or Should we use [name]Margaret[/name] or [name]Mairead[/name]?
I think [name]Maisie[/name] is more of a nicknamey name. It would be adorable on a baby, toddler, even teenager, but as an adult I don’t think it would work as well. I love [name]Mairead[/name], it’s gorgeous and seems vintage. [name]Maisie[/name] is a favorite of mine.
I love [name]Maisie[/name], but I agree, it’s more of a nickname. I can’t really see a businesswoman who is just [name]Maisie[/name]–I think [name]Margaret[/name] nn [name]Maisie[/name] works much better.
I prefer it as a nn, I actually like [name]Esme[/name] as a fn for [name]Maisie[/name].
[name]Mairead[/name] is also gorgeous.
I don’t think people would naturally use [name]Maisie[/name] as a nn for [name]Margaret[/name] ([name]Maggie[/name] is more natural) so it would take a bit of ‘training’ for others to use it I think.
Hmmm I didn’t even think of [name]Esme[/name] as a full name. I like [name]Mairead[/name], but I am afraid people will not pronounce it wrong.
Too cutesy. I would hate to try and carry off [name]Maisie[/name] beyond the age of about 25. I’d use [name]Margaret[/name] or [name]Esme[/name] nn [name]Maisie[/name].
I love it and think it could stand alone, but I like it best with the full name [name]May[/name], [name]Esme[/name] or [name]Madeline[/name].
[name]Just[/name] went through my family tree and apparently I had a great great aunt named [name]Maisie[/name]. [name]Just[/name] [name]Maisie[/name]. That settles it for me
I love [name]Maisie[/name] just as is!
That’s good to hear! Thank you everyone!
I work with a middle aged woman named [name]Teenie[/name]…or at least who goes by [name]Teenie[/name]. She’s extremely successful. I think people worry about these things more than they really matter.
That really makes me feel better! Btw, [name]Maisie[/name] is pronounced [name]May[/name]-zee
You seem to have already decided, but I’ll add my vote for [name]Maisie[/name] on it’s own – especially because of the family history. I’m normally a full, formal name kind of girl but [name]Maisie[/name] seems in the same vein as names like [name]Sadie[/name] that could be nicknames but could also be perfectly valid full names. And I disagree that people past 20 will be able to carry it off. I worked with a [name]Margie[/name] who was in her 40s or 50s. It’s a more common name, so maybe people would be more okay with that, but I don’t see any difference (except [name]Maisie[/name] is a MUCH better name – no offense to any [name]Margies[/name] out there!)
I [name]LOVE[/name] the idea of [name]Mairead[/name] NN [name]Maisie[/name]. I’d never thought of it before! [name]Both[/name] names are beautiful in my mind.
