Maisie?

Im not sure if [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] can stand on its own and grow with the girl as she ages. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think that [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] only works on little girls or will it work throughout her life with no longer formal name such as [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]?

I think it works perfectly on an adult. It’s no different than a generation I’d [name_f]Amy[/name_f], [name_f]Lori[/name_f], [name_u]Kari[/name_u]'s. Most names work anymore.

I can never tell if a mother is saying [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] or [name_f]Macy[/name_f], so I prefer [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] in the middle. It’s cute and would work on an adult though.

I don’t mind some “nicknames as first names”. 'I quite like [name_f]Tess[/name_f], [name_f]Nell[/name_f], [name_f]Gwen[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Jake[/name_m], [name_m]Hal[/name_m], [name_m]Will[/name_m] because they have a strong sound. However, some nicknames really are so dainty and delicate that I feel the person who wears it may break. I classify [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] as one of those “delicate flowers”. [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] contains both an “ay” and “ee” sound so I find its overwhelming sweetness kind of irritating and unpleasant. I’m sure my opinion is formed by a childhood acquaintance with the name. When I was young, I knew a very neurotic [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] who was so paranoid that she needed someone to hold her hand while crossing the street (and this was when she was nearly a teenager). It’s certainly not the worse name that anyone can call a child but I personally wouldn’t choose it as it’s just a bit too juvenile for my tolerance level.

Thats why I was thinking of using [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] as the formal name and [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] as the nn, mischa

I love [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]! A name like [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] might be too heavy even to pull off for certain adults and [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] doesn’t sound overly cutesy baby-ish in my opinion.

I love [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]! I like it better than [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] or Margueirite. It is youthful, but it also stands on it’s own as an adult. I have thought [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]/[name_u]Lynn[/name_u] or [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is pretty

I love it! As she gets older she can shorten it to [name_f]Mae[/name_f]!

Oddly I can see [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] on a young girl and on an old lady - it’s the 25-55 age range I find difficult. lol.
I really like it though and while it’s not a name we will consider I would be really delighted to meet one.

Too girly and trendy for me. I can’t see it aging well.

I like short names but [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] sounds like a young girl. I’m having a hard time picturing a grown woman with a career and a couple of teenagers, and her name is [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]. [name_f]IMO[/name_f], it is a name for someone who is not going to be taken seriously most of the time. Sorry!

[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] is one of the most popular names in [name_f]Ireland[/name_f] and [name_f]Scotland[/name_f]. I think it is great!

I like it. Have you seen the film “What [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] knew?”
