Having a bit of a dilemma. After going through literally thousands of boys names with my husband he likes precisely none of them. He did however pick our girl’s choice so we’ve discussed me picking the boy’s name, as long as he doesn’t absolutely hate my choice.
My first choice is [name_f]Briar[/name_f]. He’s not thrilled by it (“it sounds too much like [name_m]Brian[/name_m]”) but he doesn’t hate it either. I want to find some middle name combos for [name_f]Briar[/name_f] that help show off the name to him.
Our current middle name choices include:
[name_u]Michael[/name_u] (family name on both sides)
[name_u]Sullivan[/name_u]
[name_u]Tristan[/name_u]
I also like single syllable names with [name_f]Briar[/name_f] but haven’t found one I feel fits. Our surname is C0tt@m.
Any suggestions for names that would make [name_f]Briar[/name_f] shine?
[name_f]Briar[/name_f] spelled this way reads all girl to me although that may just be me. I prefer the spelling Breyer for a boy. Both [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] and [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] are very nice.
Oh, I love [name_f]Briar[/name_f]! I am sorry you are struggling so much to find a boys name you both like tho.
I do like [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] alot.
Some suggestions that I feel compliment [name_f]Briar[/name_f] gorgeously-
See, I’ve always thought of it as a more masculine name. It’s the name of one of my favourite (male) fictional characters. I would say Breyer as bray-err, rather than bry-err.
Those are both very sensible suggestions! We will probably pick a traditional boy’s name for the middle. I better make a list of 1/3+ syllable names that might work!
I think a 1 syllable name is best
[name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_m]Drake[/name_m]
[name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_u]Flynn[/name_u]
[name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_u]Royce[/name_u]
[name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_m]Cole[/name_m]
[name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_m]Grant[/name_m]
Breyer’s is an ice cream so I wouldn’t go with that spelling. Plus, as you mentioned, it looks like ‘bray-er’. [name_f]Brier[/name_f] is an ok spelling if you wanted a change
