[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I have made some progress with my top boy names and wanting/learning to love them as much as my girl list. [name_f]My[/name_f] list is as follows in the drop down. I have fallen in love with [name_m]Aidan[/name_m] [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and have decided to put that on the list, and have fallen in love with [name_m]Liam[/name_m] as a first name.
Top Names
- [name_m]Owen[/name_m] [name_m]Kurtis[/name_m]
- [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_m]Finnian[/name_m]
- [name_m]Liam[/name_m] ______
- [name_m]Evan[/name_m] [name_m]Clayton[/name_m]
- [name_m]Aidan[/name_m] [name_m]Luke[/name_m]
- ?? (Undecided, may or may not be a sixth name - but not working on it at this time.
I am in this post looking for help with middle names for [name_m]Liam[/name_m]! I have some ideas I will list and reason why or why not they work. Would love some thoughts on them.
- [name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Cohen[/name_m] - is this a really bad association?
- [name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Cole[/name_m] - is [name_m]Cole[/name_m] too negative/wordy being similar to [name_m]Coal[/name_m]?
- [name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] - this would be a family middle name.
- [name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Hudson[/name_m] - sound too trendy and [name_m]Hudson[/name_m] seems soo last namey?
- [name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Maddox[/name_m] - this is a risky one for me as it seem soo modern, but would honour a [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f].
- [name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_f]Riley[/name_f] - I have always loved [name_f]Riley[/name_f] for a boy, but I am soo worried about it now being overtaken by girls that I shouldnt use it? That reason always makes me second guess it.
- [name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] - Too dated? [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] would be a family name. But not a must to honour.
- [name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] - I really like the look of this name and I want to love [name_m]Zachary[/name_m], but I dont know why is always never seems right? Hmm…
Suggestions are still welcome for a middle name for [name_m]Liam[/name_m]! I want it to fit in with the rest of the list and not stick out.
Thank you for your help

[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] has charm and balance
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Hudson[/name_m] is gentle but rugged - I don’t find it anymore surname-y than [name_m]Clayton[/name_m].
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] is sharp and cool but traditional. But if you’re not sure, maybe not the one?

[name_m]Liam[/name_m] is lovely
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Cohen[/name_m] ~ I strongly recommend you not using the name [name_m]Cohen[/name_m]. This is a sacred name within the Jewish community and it’s a form of cultural appropriation to use. As someone whose mother is Jewish seeing people use [name_m]Cohen[/name_m] as a fashion name is deeply upsetting/frustrating and to me highlights a lack of understanding.

[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Calix[/name_m]
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Cole[/name_m] ~ I think this name works just fine but isn’t my favourite I think the flow is a little off.

[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] ~ absolutely gorgeous! [name_f]Love[/name_f] that [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] is a family name for you and how handsome he sounds with [name_m]Liam[/name_m] a really wonderful choice.

[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Hudson[/name_m] ~ yes [name_m]Hudson[/name_m] is trendy but I feel that [name_m]Liam[/name_m] also met the trendy train so to me both names work very well in a fashion forward sense. I really like the name [name_m]Hudson[/name_m].

[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Maddox[/name_m] ~ I love the unexpected feel of [name_m]Maddox[/name_m] paired with [name_m]Liam[/name_m]. Such a cool, modern, fashionable choice.

[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_f]Riley[/name_f] ~ feels very cheeky chappy with a lovely [name_m]Irish[/name_m] feel. Where I am [name_f]Riley[/name_f] is definitely more popular for boys (ranking #70) so I wouldn’t loose [name_f]Riley[/name_f] due to usage with team girl. Also there is a lot more gender fluidity nowadays so again this to me is a non issue. [name_f]Riley[/name_f] is just a unisex name.

Oh, [name_m]Aidan[/name_m] [name_m]Luke[/name_m] is very sweet! I like him a lot.
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Cohen[/name_m] - I would avoid. I think [name_m]Cohen[/name_m] has an appealing sound/imagery for me, it’s not worth the hurt it would cause.
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Cole[/name_m] - simple and sweet! I’m a big fan of [name_m]Cole[/name_m], and I think it’s established enough as a name not to be confused with coal, but It does feel like it’s on the short side for me.
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] - I think my favorite! I wouldn’t have thought to pair them up, but it works very well and somehow doesn’t feel as short as [name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Cole[/name_m] does.
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Hudson[/name_m] - love [name_m]Hudson[/name_m] but I don’t love him with [name_m]Liam[/name_m]. I think the Liam/Hudson endings just seem too similar.
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Maddox[/name_m] - I’m not a big [name_m]Maddox[/name_m] fan but I respect it being an honor name.
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_f]Riley[/name_f] - I’m not a huge [name_f]Riley[/name_f] fan, but I would not worry about it being a girls’ name only. It feels very familiar and usable for both genders!
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] - it does feel a little dated, but not too much so, at least in my country? I’m not sure how it’s ranked in your country (which I assume isn’t the US given your spelling of “honour”. If not [name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Hayes[/name_m], this might actually be my favorite. It’s soft and unexpected.
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] - flows well and love that it’s longer, but for some reason I don’t like the zippy Z in [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] with [name_m]Liam[/name_m].
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] & [name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] are my favorites!
Good luck!

Thank you so much for detailing
Surprisingly, [name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] has grown on me alot which I wasnt entirely expecting.
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] as well being a front runner, as well as, [name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Cole[/name_m] depsite it running abit short. But with a 2 syllable and nearly 10 letter last name it makes it feel not so short anymore.
I have been liking [name_m]Cole[/name_m], perhaps a middle for name #6 too of I wanted. Lots of choices!!
I am trying out those combos with [name_m]Liam[/name_m] and on the list and sitting on it for a few days and seeing how I feel and what I am most drawn to. This has been a much harder decision, I didnt think I would love 3 combos at once!
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] is nice. Good suggestion above to consider [name_m]Coleman[/name_m].
