We would love to adopt twins from [name]Russia[/name] or Ukraine, Boy/girl twins if possible. I [name]Love[/name] love love the name [name]Maksim[/name] for a boy, with the obvious max as a nickname. However I can’t find a girls name that I love just as much, suggestions would be great!(: Also we would love to use the nickname [name]Emme[/name] if possible.
I don’t think that sound ([name]Emme[/name]) is really found in Russian. Maybe you could use it for a name starting with M though or use the initials [name]EM[/name] and then use it as a nn?
[name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Marina[/name] or [name]Mila[/name]
[name]Ella[/name] Magdalina or [name]Mura[/name]
[name]Eugenia[/name] [name]Mira[/name] or Mileva
[name]Eva[/name] Marulia or [name]Maiya[/name]
Also, a lot of Greek and some French names translate into Russian as well, so you could just use [name]Emelia[/name], [name]Emmeline[/name], or whatever you’d like.

[name]Just[/name] going to throw this out there in case you didn’t know or haven’t had the opportunit to watch PBS kids in the last 12 years, [name]Max[/name] and [name]Emmy[/name] are the kids on Dragon Tales. Ok kids show but I’d find it a little odd. But then again you might love Dragon Tales… Also, a celebrity named her twins [name]Max[/name] and [name]Emmy[/name] a few years ago… J.Lo, I think.
I do really love [name]Maksim[/name], though! So cute! So so cute! Other favorite Russian boys names are [name]Nikolai[/name] and [name]Mikhail[/name].
For a girls name, would you consider something like [name]Sophia[/name] nn [name]Sophie[/name] instead? It’s european, it’s classic, it has a similar sound and goes well with [name]Maksim[/name]/[name]Max[/name].
Also, [name]Nadia[/name]/[name]Nadya[/name]
[name]Roksana[/name]
[name]Natalia[/name]/[name]Natalya[/name]
and the very pretty [name]Zoya[/name].
Best of luck!
If you’re American, you cannot adopt from [name]Russia[/name]. Good luck getting twins, a boy and a girl at that, from Ukraine.
[name]Maksim[/name] is a cute name and I prefer the nickname spelled [name]Maks[/name] if it’s from [name]Maksim[/name] (I’m picky like that).
Davisellu is right that [name]Emme[/name] isn’t really found in Russian. And allythys is right that J.Lo’s twins are [name]Max[/name] and [name]Emme[/name].
There’s Emiliya (technically a Bulgarian name that’s also used in [name]Russia[/name].) The Cyrillic is Эмили”, and you could definitely use [name]Emme[/name] as a nickname.
All this. [name]Russia[/name] is now closed to Americans. And Ukraine definitely doesn’t let you pick out children like you’re at a salad bar.
Well thank you all for your feedback, and for the information on my names and the adoption.
