Malachy?

Just discovered this name and low key love it!

What are everyone’s thoughts on this name? First associations? What middles would you use?

Would it work as a brother to Caledonia (hypotheticaly)?

I like the sound of it. Visually, it reminds me of the word malarkey.

[name_m]Malachy[/name_m] has charm and ruggedness!! I can totally see it with [name_f]Caledonia[/name_f]!

[name_m]Malachy[/name_m] [name_u]Luca[/name_u], [name_m]Malachy[/name_m] [name_u]Jasper[/name_u], [name_m]Malachy[/name_m] [name_m]Fergus[/name_m] and [name_m]Malachy[/name_m] [name_m]Rufus[/name_m] came to mind

It’s a little awkward for me, because I don’t know upon reading it if the intent is to be pronounced “Mal-uh-KEE” or if it’s intended to be an alternate spelling of [name_m]Malachi[/name_m], pronounced “Mal-uh-KY”.

Whatever the intent, I do think it works with a sister named [name_f]Caledonia[/name_f].

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Malachy[/name_m]! I prefer the “key” ending to the “ky” ending of [name_m]Malachi[/name_m], it just feels more friendly and lively. It fits perfectly with [name_f]Caledonia[/name_f] as a sister name:)

I love the name and I do think it works together, though I’m a sucker for the [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] speaking

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

I love it. It’s so fun loving & sporty & spunky. I’m a tad biased, because it’s my five year old nephew’s name. He’s adorable & lovable & completely a bundle of energy.
