I personally do not like the name [name]Malcolm[/name], sorry! It just sounds lame and geeky to me. However, I’ve never actually met anyone named [name]Malcolm[/name]… it is pretty unique.

We have a daughter named [name]Amelia[/name] and are now expecting a little boy. Looking for boys names has been challenging…any suggestions would be appreciated

It’s my #1 favorite boy name right now. I think it’s handsome and studious and slightly quirky. I think [name]Malcolm[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name] together are delightful.

I like [name]Malcolm[/name], but it’s not amongst my very favourite M names for boys. Its got a good classic sound to it, though. I do tend to associate it with Firefly/[name]Serenity[/name] but that is sort of a Good Thing.
It does sound good with [name]Amelia[/name].
I like [name]Malcolm[/name] a lot! I think it’s handsome and I love the potential for the nickname [name]Mac/name. I’ve never met a [name]Malcolm[/name], but I do think it’s a great name, I feel like it’s pretty timeless.
It’s not to my taste. However, I appreciate its heritage and roots, and nn’s [name]Mack[/name] and [name]Cole[/name] are solid. Here is my reason for not being a big fan: [name]Mal[/name] makes me think of the Spanish word for bad. I’m not sure others would see this on average : D. Also, I have known two: one was a little boy who was very bullied. A sweet kid himself but you know, not a positive association. The other is a bully himself, a teenager, so yeah, I just haven’t had good luck with people with the name. There was also that TV show [name]Malcolm[/name] in the Middle? I never watched though so no strong association, but I’m sure it’s one some would have.
Anyway, I really like several of sillysheila’s similar suggestions better, and I’ll add [name]Duncan[/name] and [name]Miles[/name] to that list.

I love [name]Malcolm[/name]! Can’t personally use it because it’s my Uncle’s name and we’re not close at all. It would just be awkward.
