[name_m]Hi[/name_m], I know this is usually a site for baby names but I’ve seen a few people have posted before asking for trans name suggestions. I’m hoping to trial a more masculine sounding name with my friends as I want to start being perceived as male.
[name_f]My[/name_f] ideas right now are all over the place:
In my mind for a while I used [name_m]Ellary[/name_m]-[name_u]Jay[/name_u] (shortened to EJ) as my current middle name is [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]-[name_u]Jay[/name_u] and I wanted, at first, to have a neutral name. However, it definitely feels too feminine. [name_u]Kit[/name_u] is part of my birth name but, again, feels feminine. I found the name Thornley and as cool as it sounds to me, it doesn’t seem very realistic (I can’t see myself with this on a name badge at a job). I like [name_u]Braxton[/name_u] too but again I’m not sure.
I like things that feel darker and have a more gothic vibe but also a cowboy sounding name seems pretty cool. Names inspired by nature would also be cool. I guess I’m looking for something unique that stands out but isn’t too unrealistic. I don’t mind if the suggestions are standalone names or use the EJ template. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
How about just [name_u]Jay[/name_u], or if that’s not uncommon enough, maybe even Bluejay? That would be a standout nature-inspired name but you could shorten to masculine [name_u]Blue[/name_u] or [name_u]Jay[/name_u].
Elwood also sprang to mind, for something with a cool cowboyish feel and that “[name_f]El[/name_f]” sound from your current name. [name_u]Or[/name_u] a more masculine elaboration on [name_u]Kit[/name_u], like Kitson, Kittridge or even Kitfox (a type of plane with a naturey vibe).
Thank you for the suggestion [name_u]Elison[/name_u] really stood out to me because I’ve never seen it before and for nicknames, I could go with [name_u]Eli[/name_u] or [name_u]Elis[/name_u]. I think it’s something I might try out.
