So a new tuxedo cat has insinuated himself into our home. He’s slightly long-haired, very dashing, talkative, calm, quite happy to be lolling on his back on a pillow instead of starving on the street. Before I let him in, he would follow me for walks around the block, so I considered naming him [name]Walker[/name], but DH objected.
Now I’m looking for a 2-syllable name, easy to call, something distinguished without being fusty. Here’s my longish short list:
[name]Darwin[/name] (top of my list, means dear friend.)
[name]Seymour[/name] (too common? I like the nerdiness.)
[name]Nestor[/name]
[name]Story[/name] (I’m a writer.)
[name]Larkin[/name]
[name]Denton[/name] (means happy home)
What do you think? Right now I’m liking [name]Darwin[/name] or [name]Nestor[/name] best.
I like [name]Nestor[/name], and [name]Seymour[/name]. I [name]LOVE[/name] Storey (I’m also a writer, but I perfer my spelling of Storrie.)
(My boyfriend also wanted a cat, so we got one together.
He is gray tuxedo cat, also very talkative and loves to cuddle like me :). And my boyfriend allowed me to name him [name]Dino[/name] after my passion/obsession with dinosaurs. )
Thanks, [name]Issa[/name]. My parents have an African [name]Grey[/name] named Bongo. He has a huge vocabulary and some knowledge of grammar. When my Dad was ill, he kept saying, “Where’s [name]Mel[/name]? [name]Wanna[/name] see [name]Mel[/name].” When Mom told him that Dad was in the hospital and they couldn’t see him today, he said, “Tomorrow?”
What about [name]Walter[/name]? similar to [name]Walker[/name] but more formal. perfect for a tuxedo kitty! I had a black and white cat named [name]Walter[/name] for years when I was little and he was one of the best cats I ever had.
