So I saw (well heard) this on Teen [name_m]Wolf[/name_m], and before actually hearing them say it, I read it on pictures (edits), and I finally figured out I was pronouncing it completely wrong.

So which way do you guys like it sounding better??

Ma-[name_f]Lea[/name_f]
Or
[name_u]Mal[/name_u]-e-uh

I say MAAH-lee-ah.

But, if someone was called [name_f]Malia[/name_f] prn muh-[name_u]LEE[/name_u]-uh, I’d be prepared to say it that way upon correction. :slight_smile:

I say mə-[name_u]LEE[/name_u]-ə, like [name_m]Obama[/name_m]'s daughter. It’s a pretty name.

Exactly how I hear it.

Ma-[name_u]LEE[/name_u]-a, like Miss [name_m]Obama[/name_m] (probably going to get that most of the time in the US, since she’s the main association with the name).

If I had never heard of her, I would probably say MAH-lee-a instead (not MALE-ee-a though).

I think all pronunciations are pretty.
