What do you think of the name [name]Mannix[/name]? I have never heard the name before now, I found it when searching a page of Irish names and I didnt think much of it at first but its been growing on me. The only name my hubby has said hes liked so far is [name]Max[/name]. I like the name but have been wishing there was a longer version for it I liked… Im not a fan of the usual [name]Maxwell[/name]. To make a long story short, when I found [name]Mannix[/name] I thought it could easily be shortened to use [name]Max[/name] as a nickname but still be just that little bit more I want, but I’ve never seen a child with this name, would it be considered weird on the playground? What kind of child do you think of when you hear the name?
[name]Mannix[/name] was a detective television show in the 60s and 70s. I’ve never even seen it but that’s the only thing I can think of, my mom talks about how great it was all the time! I wonder how many others have that association. I suppose it’s not bad, just the only thing I can think of. I’m sure if I met one that would go away, though. Other than that, it’s pretty cute. You may also like [name]Maddox[/name].
I like it. It kinda sounds like manic though. But I still think it is a unique way to get to [name]Max[/name]. The name has style imo.

Too close to “manic”. And nn “[name]Max[/name]” is kind of a stretch, I’ve met a few guys (one adult one infant) who were called “[name]Man[/name]” short for [name]Mannon[/name], which is the nn I would expect for [name]Mannix[/name]. [name]Nix[/name] in conjunction with anything is pretty hard to make work [name]Man[/name]-[name]Nix[/name] sounds to me like the human equivalent of terminix bug killer! Not to be a downer, but that’s why I wouldn’t use it.

I really like the sound of it. I kind of have a bad association with it, because I once hired a lawyer whose last name was [name]Mannix[/name] and he basically did nothing and then he died! But, I do think if I didn’t have that association I’d really like it, and [name]Max[/name] could definitely work as a nickname.
Familiar as a last name. As a first, I’d expect [name]Manny[/name] to result. I also have a slightly weird feeling about the name due to having once read a story about a robot named [name]Mannix[/name].
