I actually love both of your names but [name_f]Maple[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] sound so good together! [name_u]Winter[/name_u] is a cute name but Hespera is only okay for me, I like [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] though X
I much prefer [name_f]Maple[/name_f].
Hespera just reminds me of Hesperia the city in the desert…
I don’t mind [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] though.
Hespera [name_u]Winter[/name_u] is beautiful! [name_f]Maple[/name_f] sounds better as a middle name imo, so I think go with Hespera [name_u]Winter[/name_u].
Hespera [name_u]Winter[/name_u]. I’m not the biggest fan of [name_f]Maple[/name_f] as a fn. Perhaps if it had been [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f].
I voted for [name_f]Maple[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] it is pretty I can’t get onboard with Hespera I can only hear desperate in that name.
In love my Greek names, but I think a little girl would have an easier time growing up with the name [name_f]Maple[/name_f] in the US. If you lived in a more cosmopolitan area, I might favor Hespera (because I really like that name better)… it all kind of depends.
Hespera (the nickname [name_f]Essie[/name_f] just gets me every time) and [name_f]Maple[/name_f] is a little sickly-sweet for me on a grown woman - sorry!
Oh, two very different names. Hespera is so beautiful, very regal and very pleasant to say out loud. I really like that name and [name_u]Winter[/name_u] gives it a nice touch, so that’s my vote. As lovely as [name_f]Maple[/name_f] may sound now, it doesn’t age very well. I would keep that one as a middle name.
Thanks for your opinions everyone!
I too fear the name [name_f]Maple[/name_f] for a grown up. I think Hespera is lovely though ~ Hespera [name_f]Maple[/name_f] do anything for you?
Hespera [name_f]Maple[/name_f] is lovely, but it feels… lacking, somehow. I’ll think about it! ![]()
Hespera [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] would be my pick; both the morning and evening star, dusk and dawn.
[name_f]Maple[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] is a really cool name. What are some possible for nn for [name_f]Maple[/name_f]? Or does it not even warrant a nn? [name_m]Just[/name_m] curious
This is the toughest poll I’ve seen so far! Good luck.
I like Hess as a nn for Hespera, but [name_f]Maple[/name_f] is so strong and yet so youthful.
In the end I went with [name_f]Maple[/name_f] because it works so well with [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] (not that [name_u]Winter[/name_u] doesn’t work well with Hespera, just that [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and [name_f]Maple[/name_f] give off the same glow).
norbury: That would be a beautiful meaning! [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] is one of my favorites and I would miss it, but Hespera and [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] are both 3 syllables and end in the same sound. It doesn’t sound the best.
asche926: Thanks! I don’t think [name_f]Maple[/name_f] needs a nickname, and I wouldn’t really want to use one either.
cristinamariane: Thank you!
I don’t have a set nickname for Hespera yet, but I would prefer to use the full name anyway. Thanks for explaining your opinion!
Hespera [name_u]Winter[/name_u]!!! [name_f]Maple[/name_f] is sweet and spunky and cute, but Hespera is magical, ethereal, sparkly and gorgeous. I also think Hespera would age better than [name_f]Maple[/name_f]. Hespera [name_u]Winter[/name_u] and [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Maple[/name_f] would be great names for twins or sisters though!
Thanks for the Hespera comment! My goal is a magical, ethereal, sparkly, and gorgeous name! ![]()
Hespera wins over [name_f]Maple[/name_f] every time for me. [name_f]Maple[/name_f]'s cute and spunky and quirky, best for a small kid’s nickname or a middle name. Hespera’s elegant, coruscating, magic.
I vote Hespera [name_f]Aurore[/name_f].
Thanks!!! Hespera [name_f]Aurore[/name_f] is beautiful and I do like [name_f]Aurore[/name_f], but [name_f]Aurore[/name_f] just doesn’t feel as sparkly and magical as [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] does, to me. I would rather use [name_u]Winter[/name_u]. I’ll think it over some more though because I do like it. ![]()
