Marceau for a Girl

I am really liking girls names that end in the “O” sound. I also love those old Occitan female names and really like names like [name]Margaux[/name] and [name]Isabeau[/name]. Also love the “s” sound in names like [name]Iris[/name], Briseis, and Béatrice (bay-uh-treece). So what are your thoughts on [name]Marceau[/name] (mar-soh) for a girl. Would love to also hear other suggestions that fit into the O sound or the S sounds or any old, ancient, medieval, Occitan style female names you have. Thank you!

I’m still looking for ideas, but here’s a start

I like the sound, but the spelling kind of looks too masculine for me. Sorry.

Honestly? If you didnt speak French I would just think you didnt know Marceau was a boys name, if you did then I would think it was a strange choice since it’s such a classic boys name.

I do like Isabeau and Margaux but prefer the traditional spelling Margot

Here is a site of Occitan names, it’s in French but if you cant read it the columns are pretty self explanatory, the names are on the far left Prenoms occitans here’s a list of just names Liste de prénoms occitans — Wikipédia
