Margaret or Margot??

I’ve got this new combo I really love,

[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Iva[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] ([name_f]Iva[/name_f] is pronounced eeva). I love all 3 names. But then I wondered if [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Iva[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] sounded better.

I feel like [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] has more nickname flexibility, and it’s a strong vintage name.

[name_f]Margot[/name_f] is also strong, but a bit more bohemian. Which combo sounds better?

Much prefer [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]. [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is ok but doesn’t have the same appeal to me.

That combo is lovely btw

I much prefer the classic [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]. It’s so beautiful. [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is cute, but not beautiful.

I think [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Iva[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] has a better flow to it. Plus you could use [name_f]Margot[/name_f] as a nickname if you wanted.

I prefer the combo with [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]. It flows better and has a better general aesthetic. Then again, you could also use [name_f]Margot[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] anyway.

Personally I prefer [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] has far more personality and energy than [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]; I really like the image it gives me, but that’s just my opinion. I do think the whole combo sounds better in terms of flow, with [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Iva[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] is gorgeous!

I prefer [name_f]Margot[/name_f], and I also think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Iva[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] flows better than [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Iva[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u].

I really like both [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. However I think [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is prettier it’s just more classic.

This is a tough choice for me. I love [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] for this name combo. However, I think I like [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] better. I think it flows better and I think it’s a really pretty name.

I much prefer [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is simply outdated, and I see [name_f]Margot[/name_f] as being classic, but with more life to it. I can’t see [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] on anyone but an older woman.

I prefer [name_f]Margaret[/name_f].

While flow is important, the flow of the entire name will rarely be heard as it is rarely spoken aloud. In this situation I would choose the name you love more and go with that. I personally think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] has much more energy and personality, like another berry said. I also think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] goes better with the other names in your siggy. And if [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is your reasoning for wanting [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], I think you could still call her [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] no matter what her official name was. She could just be your little [name_f]Daisy[/name_f].

Personally, I’d go with [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. Because I’m not a huge fan of [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], and I think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is definitely worthy of being a stand-alone name. I hesitate on which [name_f]Margot[/name_f] spelling I prefer: [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Margo[/name_f], or [name_f]Margaux[/name_f].

But, if you like the name [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], I’d say to use it as the full name, and use [name_f]Margot[/name_f] as a nickname, so that you can get the best of both worlds.

I love the middle name [name_f]Iva[/name_f]! I think both combos work nicely.

[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] sounds much better in this combo. The -o and the -ee don’t flow well together.

I prefer [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]. You could always go for [name_f]Margot[/name_f] as a nickname anyway! And I know you didn’t ask for an opinion on the combo, but…the repeated ‘ee’ sound in the middle doesn’t sound 100%. Maybe use [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]?

I love [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] infinitely more than [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. Heck, [name_f]Margot[/name_f] could even be a nickname for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f].
