Thinking about adding [name]Margo[/name]/t/aux to the list. Which spelling do you prefer and why?
Thanks!
[name]Margo[/name], for sure! -Aux has misspelling/mispronunciation written all over it, and I just don’t like [name]Margo[/name] with a -t.
Oh, and your little girl is beautiful. I just noticed that she’s your avvie. She just looks like a [name]Lucia[/name] and I think a [name]Margo[/name] would be perfect for her sibling.
Thank you!!! She is very spunky and smart, a killer combo and I am sure she will give us a run for our money!
I love [name]Margot[/name]! I prefer it with the ‘t’. Without it the name looks unfinished to me, and -aux feels like it’s trying a bit too hard for my taste.
[name]Margot[/name] for me, too. I think the -aux ending is pretty, but a little trickier for strangers to spell and looks “too French” unless you’ve got some particular connection to or heritage from [name]France[/name]. [name]Margo[/name] looks dowdy to me; too close to [name]Marge[/name]. [name]Margot[/name] is the right mix of exotic and approachable [name]IMO[/name]. But that’s personal taste.
I love [name]Margo/name! We’re considering it for our daughter too
I prefer [name]Margo[/name] just because there will be less mispronunciations.
[name]Margot[/name] is definitely my favorite spelling by far. [name]Margo[/name] could work as well though.
I’m not a [name]Margaux[/name] fan at all.
[name]Margot[/name], I think it’s so cute and adorable!
I like [name]Margot[/name] the best because [name]Margaux[/name] seems overly complicated and [name]Margo[/name] looks incomplete.
I also prefer the spelling [name]Margot[/name], with [name]Margo[/name] a second choice. I love [name]Margot[/name], I wish I could have gotten my husband on board! I love a lot of the same names you do…I think [name]Sonja[/name]/[name]Sonia[/name] and [name]Margot[/name]/[name]Margo[/name] would both be awesome choices. I do like [name]Margo[/name], but it does feel a touch more incomplete to me. I think I would put [name]Margot[/name] with [name]Lucia[/name]…the “t” on the end gives it a little more of exotic flair that matches up well with [name]Lucia[/name].
I am french and prefer the [name]Margaux[/name] spelling. It looks classy and sophisticated, while the other two spellings seem more spunky and fun. I prefer classy over spunky, I guess.
Out of [name]Margo[/name] and [name]Margot[/name], I much much prefer [name]Margo[/name]. [name]Margot[/name] reminds me of maggot.
I love [name]Margot[/name] – but I do see [name]Margo[/name] as a bit trendier, as novmama10 said. But for me, it would be [name]Margot[/name]!
[name]Margot[/name]. [name]Margo[/name] looks oddly blokey to me.
I prefer [name]Margot[/name]. I feel like [name]Margo[/name] looks like you dumbed it down for people. [name]Margaux[/name] is just asking for it to be misspelled.
[name]Margaux[/name]. It’s beautiful and sophisticated.
[name]Margo[/name] reminds me of [name]Margo[/name] [name]Channing[/name], and [name]Margot[/name] reminds me of [name]Anne[/name] [name]Frank[/name]'s older sister.
I agree with everyone who said “[name]Margo[/name]” looks plain or dumbed-down for a [name]North[/name] American audience. In [name]Canada[/name] the most common spelling I see is “[name]Margot[/name]” but there are lots of [name]Margaux[/name] as well with there being a French influence. I like the “T” ending best. Also: I just finished reading “Gone Girl” (awesome book if you haven’t read it yet) and the nn for a character [name]Margo[/name] is “Go” which I think is adorable for an energetic little girl.
[name]Margot[/name] is my preference. I think it looks pretty and finished.
[name]Margaux[/name], and then [name]Margo[/name]. I don’t like the -t spelling at all!
