If we have another girl, she will probably be [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. My daughter [name_f]Nora[/name_f]'s middle name is a variant of my mother’s name so if we have another girl I want it to be a variant of my [name_f]MIL[/name_f]'s name ([name_u]Lisa[/name_u]).
I love [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f], but I feel it’s TOO [name_m]French[/name_m]. Since we aren’t [name_m]French[/name_m], I think it’s a little weird.
Therefore, I have been considering [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] or [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is really pretty, even if you aren’t [name_m]French[/name_m]. Personally, I wouldn’t even notice if I heard it. Both [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] are also beautiful. Some other things I thought of are [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Liesel[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elisa[/name_f] (or [name_f]Alyssa[/name_f]), [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] (from your sig), or [name_f]Margot[/name_f] Lissandra.
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is gorgeous!!! I think you should definitely use it, even not being [name_m]French[/name_m].
If not, [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]? [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]?
Yes [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is a [name_m]French[/name_m] name, but it shouldn’t put you off from using it if you really like it. Most people won’t know, and even if they did, so what? It’s a gorgeous name.
Thanks for the input! I was really ruling out [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] but you have made me reconsider. I’m still a little weary on it still due to its “Frenchness” but I really do like the sound of it. Plus both names are on my list as first names so I do love them both in their own right.
I love [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]! But, if you want [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] or [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], I suggest going with [name_f]Elisa[/name_f] and [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] so it has [name_u]Lisa[/name_u] in there.
I like [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. The elegant middles give a good balance with spunky [name_f]Margot[/name_f]!
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is beautiful. It doesn’t strike me as so [name_m]French[/name_m] that I’d even blink upon discovering that you are not. I think both names are mainstream enough for that not to be a concern.
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is my long-standing [name_f]Margot[/name_f] combo, so obviously I love that too. I’ve considered [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] as well, and I even posted a poll once, I can’t remember what the third option was…oh yes, [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f]… [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] won, with [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] in close second, and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] in distant third. If that helps…
Anyway, I would go with [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]. It’s perfect and most closely honors a [name_u]Lisa[/name_u]. [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] are awesome together!
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is actually my favorite combo for [name_f]Margot[/name_f], so I’m gonna say it is amazing! [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is pretty, and doesn’t scream overly [name_m]French[/name_m] to me, but I will always prefer [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] over [name_f]Elise[/name_f]. I think the extra syllables in [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] make it sound nice and balanced with [name_f]Margot[/name_f] too.
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] was definitely my first thought. It’s gorgeous. I don’t think it too [name_m]French[/name_m] personally, but then again, I am a sucker for finding a reason to use [name_m]French[/name_m]-y names anytime!
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] I would prefer over [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], but honestly… I think you may have some other options too. [name_m]Even[/name_m] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Lisbet[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Lisanne[/name_f], or [name_f]Margot[/name_f] Dylis would be pretty and unexpected, but related to [name_u]Lisa[/name_u].
This is difficult because I love them all. It seems like you really love [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and it has a strong family connection. It doesn’t seem too [name_m]French[/name_m] at all to me. [name_f]Elise[/name_f] has been well used in the US for a while. I know a [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] who is as American as apple pie. Her mom liked to play piano so I think she wanted the Fur [name_f]Elise[/name_f] reference.
Other -lis- names that haven’t been mentioned:
[name_f]Annalise[/name_f]
[name_f]Lizette[/name_f] or [name_f]Lisette[/name_f]
[name_f]Lisbeth[/name_f]
By the way, I’m really liking [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] together! [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is a top 5 favorite for me. [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]/[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] are also favs.
