Please help us decide between [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Agathe[/name_f] (or [name_f]Agatha[/name_f]) for our baby girl! She will be baby sister to [name_m]Archer[/name_m], nn [name_m]Archie[/name_m], so I’m interested to know which one you think makes a better sibset?
Also interested to hear your thoughts on the nicknames [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] and [name_f]Aggie[/name_f] respectively. Thanks!
omgoodness! I love [name_f]Agathe[/name_f]! It’s so unusual, but so fun, I think. [name_f]Agatha[/name_f]'s gorgeous, and I like [name_f]Margot[/name_f] nn [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] a lot, but I’d be so impressed to meet a little [name_f]Agathe[/name_f].
However, I’ve never been an [name_f]Aggie[/name_f] fan (for some reason, it reminds me of ‘old hag’, although I don’t know why!), so I might vote for [name_f]Margot[/name_f] nn [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] instead.
Honestly, I love all three options, so I would go with any, but since I dislike [name_f]Aggie[/name_f] so much, I’d probably go for [name_f]Margot[/name_f] instead. I do love most [name_f]Ag[/name_f]- names, though!
I adore [name_f]Margot[/name_f]! [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] is cute, and works well as a nn for [name_f]Margot[/name_f], but I prefer it on its own - so elegant and beautiful. [name_f]Agathe[/name_f] is nice too, but it doesn’t have the same feel as [name_f]Margot[/name_f] to me, and also it would mean two A names (bothers some people, but may not be a big deal to you). [name_m]Archer[/name_m] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] make a great pair!
I love [name_f]Margot[/name_f], but must confess it’s my daughter’s name, so I am not completely unbiased. We have never called her [name_f]Maggie[/name_f], though. My husband hates nicknames and so insisted on stand alone names. Of course nicknames slip in anyway, and hers became [name_f]Margi[/name_f], with a hard “g” sound rather than a “j”.
I like both names but find [name_m]Archer[/name_m] (especially if he is ever called [name_m]Archie[/name_m]) and [name_f]Agathe[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Aggie[/name_f]) too similar. [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is quite sweet with [name_m]Archer[/name_m]. [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] is a nice nn although I don’t feel [name_f]Margot[/name_f] really needs one.
Oh dear, I’m in love with both… [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] I like as a nickname. I don’t really like [name_f]Aggie[/name_f], since it sounds a bit (harsh?) to me. But [name_f]Agathe[/name_f] I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u]!! I think I’ll go with [name_f]Agathe[/name_f], since it just strikes a gorgeous cord with me.
I think [name_m]Archer[/name_m] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] are so nice! I would use [name_f]Margot[/name_f] as it is beautiful on its own, without a nick name.
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] is my dog’s name! I personally love [name_f]Margot[/name_f], though [name_f]Agathe[/name_f] (is it pronounced like [name_f]Agatha[/name_f]?) is cute as well.
I prefer [name_f]Margot[/name_f] over [name_f]Agathe[/name_f]/[name_f]Agatha[/name_f]. I wouldn’t use a nickname for [name_f]Margot[/name_f] though. [name_f]Margot[/name_f] feels like a nickname of [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] to me.
