I love, love, love the character [name]Portia[/name] in The Merchant of [name]Venice[/name]. I’ve been at a loss of what to pair with [name]Margot[/name], and when I thought of strong female namesakes from literature, [name]Portia[/name] is at the top of the list. What do you think of [name]Margot[/name] [name]Portia[/name], and would it fit with a sister [name]Ingrid[/name] [name]Zenobia[/name]? Thanks!

I love both names but I don’t think this pairing is the best you can do. Something about the double Os and similair name lengths throws me off. Sorry! They sre both so gorgeous I hate to be a critic!

I want to love this name so much! [name]Portia[/name] is a gorgeous name and [name]Margot[/name] is one of my favorites. The sound is just a little off for me. I think taz nailed it, it’s that theyre the same length, it makes it choppy. I love that youre looking to combine [name]Margot[/name] with a lit name…not sure if youre looking for suggestions, but heres a few that work for me:

Oh I love [name]Margot[/name] [name]Rosalind[/name]! [name]Rosalind[/name] is such a gorgeous name! I also love [name]Margot[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name] and [name]Margot[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]. Not a huge fan on [name]Margot[/name] [name]Miranda[/name]. I also have considered [name]Margot[/name] [name]Ginevra[/name].

I like [name]Portia[/name], I like the double o sounds, but I just am not convinced it goes with [name]Margot[/name]. When I hear [name]Portia[/name], I happen to think of the car, while [name]Margot[/name] is a classical name.
