Ok I think we have it narrowed down to these two names. We love both but I am leaning towards [name]Margot[/name] and my husband is leaning towards [name]Evangeline[/name]. We need your help! I know a lot of you don’t like [name]Margot[/name] with my son’s name [name]Leo[/name] but I have decided I like it and the matching doesn’t bother me. It’s not like [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Theo[/name] or [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Cleo[/name].
So putting your personal feelings of [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Margot[/name] aside, which first name do you like better and why?
[name]Evangeline[/name] by far. I love the nicknames [name]Evie[/name] (EE-vie) and [name]Eva[/name], even [name]Eve[/name] is cute. I think it’s so much sweeter and and more feminine than [name]Margot[/name].
I really love both!!! I would go with [name]Evangeline[/name] though as it has such adorable nn’s… [name]Eve[/name], [name]Evie[/name], [name]Eva[/name], [name]Van[/name], [name]Angel[/name], [name]Ellie[/name] even jelly for fun!! No matter who your daughter turns out to be she make the name her own! I think [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Evie[/name] are adorable together!!

That is difficult. They’re both great names. I would lean towards [name]Margot[/name] because [name]Evangeline[/name] makes me think of the word Evangelists and Evangelize. I know that sounds a little silly, but. Besides [name]Margot[/name] is a name that doesn’t really have any personality associations, and I find that really nifty and freeing.
Well I love both Evangeline is the ultimate, frilly girly name and like others have said it has a few nice nn’s.
Margot is sophisticated, elegant, and a great choice. My name is Caroline Margot and I have been called Margot almost all my life. I do not have a nn and I am very happy about that. I feel that it is a strong name, a name for a woman on the go but not in a hurry.
So if your heart likes Margot more then I have no hesitation in recommending it to you BUT if you want a sweet, little girl who loves pink and pretty dresses and long curly hair and fairies, then Evangeline is your baby (of course your Margot may love all these things too but the frilliness of Evangeline makes me more inclined to think that this would be her scene.)
I am thrilled that Margot is in vogue again, it is just a fabulous name and I feel so right in my skin being Margot. Go with your heart both are great choices.
I feel the same way as rollo - both are beautiful names, but each name has a different “feel.” Either one will go nicely with [name]Leo[/name].

I would go with [name]Evangeline[/name], I personally think it’s a gorgeous names and as other Berries have said the nn for [name]Evangeline[/name] are lovely.
Oh that’s a difficult decision! [name]Margot[/name] is sophisticated, elegant and quaintly charming. [name]Evangeline[/name] is grandiose, elegant and cozy. I love both for different reasons. [name]Margot[/name] is the sun while [name]Evangeline[/name] is a starry night.

[name]Margot[/name]- Down to earth & warm, artistic in some way, an eclectic dresser with a fashion sense, loves to sit with a book & cup of tea, outdoorsy more than sporty, like maybe more into hiking than team sports.
[name]Evangeline[/name]- A little bit of an ice queen, extremely beautiful with delicate features, a very classic dresser, people could think she’s a snob, but she’s really sweet, just shy, I think she would be a girl with talent, maybe in music, something that impresses everyone. I could see her more as a popular girl in school. They quiet but sweet beautiful girl of the group probably with the football bf.
