Margot vs Evangeline?

I love both names but I will have to go with [name]Margot[/name]. I actually like [name]Margot[/name] and [name]Leo[/name] much better as a sibset than [name]Evangeline[/name] and [name]Leo[/name].

Maybe [name]Margot[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]? I don’t think I could pick one over the other. [name]Both[/name] are very pretty and together I think it’s lovely.

[name]Margot[/name]; I second the description of it as charming, quirky and sophisticated. [name]Evangeline[/name] is pretty, but too evangelical for my taste. [name]Margot[/name] and [name]Leo[/name] are absolutely smashing together.

I adore [name]Margot[/name]! To me, it’s chic, intelligent, and kind. [name]Evangeline[/name] does have incredible nn’s, but [name]Margot[/name] is so great that it doesn’t need a nn! If you don’t have a mn lined up, [name]Margot[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name] would be fabulous. This way, you get the sleek [name]Margot[/name] in front while retaining the romantic influence of [name]Evangeline[/name].

I agree with this, and with posters who mentioned that [name]Margot[/name] is less frilly (yet still feminine imo).

Thank you guys SO much! I have been copying and pasting these responses to my husband while he’s at work  I think the ones with the descriptions have swayed him the most. He definitely likes the idea of having a spunky, outdoorsy daughter. He loves to camp, hike, hunt etc so those descriptions were really helpful thank you!

We are still not 100% decided but leaning more towards [name]Margot[/name]. I absolutely [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Margot[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name] or [name]Margot[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] but our last name starts with an N so the initials would be MEN. Is that pretty bad right? And my husband doesn’t like the idea of two middle names so that is not an option.

I think our front runners are maybe [name]Margot[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] or [name]Margot[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]. Thoughts and/or suggestions?

I think the beauty of the name Margot Evangeline is worth the MEN initials. Personally

The other choices are all pretty too. Margot Victoria is less expected, but Margot Elizabeth is also great.

Definitely [name]Margot[/name]!! I love it. I just can’t get on the [name]Evangeline[/name] bandwagon.

[name]Margot[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name] is so pretty - the MEN initials do not bother me at all. My second favorite is [name]Margot[/name] [name]Victoria[/name].

I love both, though I slightly prefer [name]Margaret[/name] to [name]Margot[/name]. For that reason I’d choose [name]Evangeline[/name]. Very sweet with lots of potential nicknames

I like [name]Margot[/name] better. But you can’t really go wrong!

I think M.E.N. initials are no big deal, it’s not offensive and hardly anyone ever uses all three initials for anything.

I do like [name]Margot[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Margot[/name] [name]Victoria[/name], too, though. You really can’t go wrong.

A couple other ideas: [name]Margot[/name] [name]Valentine[/name] (has a similar feel to [name]Evangeline[/name]) or [name]Margot[/name] [name]Ivy[/name]

[name]Margot[/name]! It’s classic with a twist and it matches the spunkiness of [name]Leo[/name]. Plus the nicknames [name]Eve[/name]/[name]Evie[/name] are everywhere nowadays

all of your combos are beautiful. I see nothing wrong with the initials MEN, either. [name]Just[/name] wanted to chime in to say I have an [name]Evangeline[/name], and she is absolutely girly/princessy/beautiful, BUT she is also very spunky and loves sports and the outdoors. So, go with your gut but don’t get too caught up in how you think a name will define your daughter…she will make it her own, no matter what you choose. Best of luck!

I like them both, but I would have to go with [name]Evangeline[/name]. If it were just the [name]Margo[/name] spelling, I would have gone with that, but I really hate the “t” at the end of the other spelling.

[name]Evangeline[/name] by a mile. [name]Evie[/name] is such a cute nickname, as are all the other names associated with [name]Evangeline[/name]. [name]Margot[/name] reminds me of Maggot - the bug, and feels really outdated.

[name]Margot[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name] and you have the best of both worlds. I like the combo much more than the other ones you suggested although they are lovely too.

rollo (remember [name]Margot[/name] is my name and it is a great name one that has always made me feel strong, feminine and sophisticated.)

I love [name]Margot[/name] - I think it is classy but with more spunk. [name]Evangeline[/name] is nice too, but it is more of a frilly girly name - which may be right for you if that’s the style you like - just not mine.
I actually like [name]Margot[/name] and [name]Leo[/name] together - I don’t think they are too matchy.

I forgot to say the initials men are ok and they arrange them in a different way for a bag/crest.

Definitely [name]Evangeline[/name], awesomely simple and classic, yet not too common
