Margot vs Margo?

What is your take on this spelling difference? [name_m]Just[/name_m] curious! Would be a shortened nickname for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Margot[/name_f] best, don’t know why, maybe because it’s the one I’ve been most familiar with

I think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] makes the most sense as a nickname for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], because it includes the t.

I prefer [name_f]Margot[/name_f]!

[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is lovely and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] would make a sweet nickname. I also feel [name_f]Margot[/name_f] spelling wise looks more ‘complete’ with an overall streamlined feel.

I prefer [name_f]Margo[/name_f] - the ‘t’ just makes my brain see maggot! Probably a me problem, though :joy:

[name_f]Margot[/name_f] all the way

I like [name_f]Margo[/name_f] best! It just looks somehow… cooler, for one, I guess because of the distinctive look of the -o ending! It also doesn’t remind me of “maggot” the way [name_f]Margot[/name_f] unfortunately does, and I like that it’s much easier to pronounce internationally (as most people who aren’t [name_m]French[/name_m] speakers or who aren’t familiar with the name [name_f]Margot[/name_f] wouldn’t know that the “t” is silent)

I completely agree! Especially since the T in [name_f]Margot[/name_f] nicely mirrors the T in [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]. It makes the nickname flow well.

I think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] looks a little more dainty, so that is my preference, although I like how spunky [name_f]Margo[/name_f] is.

Good luck!

[name_f]Margot[/name_f] feels more classic; I see her next to [name_f]Alice[/name_f] & Clara; whereas [name_f]Margo[/name_f] feels more modern and quirky, I see her next to [name_f]Lola[/name_f] & [name_f]Nell[/name_f].

For me [name_f]Margot[/name_f] feels like a full name, where as [name_f]Margo[/name_f] feels a little more incomplete, which imo makes it a better nickname.

[name_f]Margot[/name_f]. It’s seems more complete to me. Similar to how I prefer [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] to [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]
