[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone.
I am new here and I’m expecting a baby girl.
My husband and I love the name [name_f]Maria[/name_f] and we want to use it. We want to honor our mothers too, so [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_f]Rita[/name_f] would be her middle names. But… I’m not sure [name_f]Maria[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Rita[/name_f] flows at all… so, what’s your opinion? Thanks!
I think if you flipped it so it was [name_f]Maria[/name_f] [name_f]Rita[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] it would flow better.
[name_f]Maria[/name_f] is pretty! I think the combo is fine. Other options are only using one honor name or making a combination of the names.
I think it sounds great as is but you could perhaps Hyphenate the middle - it changes the sound slightly. [name_f]Maria[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]-[name_f]Rita[/name_f]
I think it’s perfect given that it’s a first name you both love and honors both grandmothers. I would keep it in the order you have it in order to keep the repetition in [name_f]Maria[/name_f] and [name_f]Rita[/name_f] farther apart. Another thought is [name_f]Marita[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]? You could call her [name_f]Mari[/name_f].
I have to be honest, I think the flow is really bad. Each name shares similar sounds with the next, which makes it sound choppy.
I understand you want to honor both grandmothers, and [name_f]Maria[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] sounds fine. The meaning of [name_f]Rita[/name_f] is pearl, so if I were you I would name her [name_f]Maria[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], to honor one grandmother literally and the other through meaning. Not sure if this would create an imbalance in your mind, but to me honoring a relative through the meaning of their name seems as sincere as using their literal name. If anything, more though is put into it.
Best of luck!
I know you probably wouldn’t want to put one mothers name as a first name in fear of upsetting the other. But I think that [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Maria[/name_f] [name_f]Rita[/name_f] sounds better. However I not fussed on using both [name_f]Maria[/name_f] and [name_f]Rita[/name_f] because they are similar names. What if. You changed [name_f]Maria[/name_f] to a different name?
______ [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Rita[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] _______ [name_f]Rita[/name_f]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps and makes sense!
My first focus is always how the first name and last name sound together and I don’t know your last name, but if they flow well then I think you should use [name_f]Maria[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Rita[/name_f]. They are okay and it is very seldom that we say our first and middle names together, most people won’t even know what they are, and they are meaningful to you which I think always trumps flow. She will be known as [name_f]Maria[/name_f] (last name). I say, go for it!
