Mariay?

I met a woman with a daughter named Mariay, pronounced mah-ree-ay, about a week back or so. I fell in love with how the name sounds! It has a very french feel to it (reminds me of [name]Soleil[/name]) but the spelling looks like an awkward/kreative form of [name]Mariah[/name] Has anyone heard this name before or know of any other spellings?

Mariay
[name]Mariya[/name] (Not sure if this is meant to be pronounced “maria”)
[name]Marie[/name] (with an accent on the E)
[name]Mariae[/name]

none of these look right either  sigh

I haven’t heard it before but it sounds pretty!

My first instinct would be [name]Mariet[/name]. In French, a word like “violet” (the masculine form of the name, as opposed to “violette”) would be said like vee-oh-lay… the “et” part is said like “ay” in French. So I think that could work, and might have similar etymology roots to [name]Marietta[/name] or something. Otherwise I’m not sure. I suppose [name]Marie[/name] with the accent over the “E” would be a good bet, although for the feminine form (if there is such a thing–it’s starting to look pretty made-up that way!) would be [name]Mari[/name]ée… I think. My French is a wee bit rusty.
