Marie as a Middle Name for a Boy

Opinions?

Fine, in my opinion. I would assume it’s chosen for religious, cultural or family reasons.

I like it a lot, and [name_u]Maria[/name_u] possibly even more!

I had a boy at my high school with the middle name [name_u]Maria[/name_u] and he got made fun of a lot, so I wouldn’t recommend it unfortunately

I’m not considering it on a child actually, just wanted to know what Berries think

Some folks who decide to use masculine names on girls will use a feminine name as the middle. So on paper I would probably assume they were a girl. But I don’t think that’s a big deal. So [name_u]Marie[/name_u] is usable as a boy’s middle name, imo. I think teasing based on gender stereotypes will be decreasing as the years go by.

Marie has always been unisex, I think it be darling! And much prefer it on a boy rather than a girl (I see it a lot the names so common for a middle ) [name_m]Just[/name_m] recently someone was asking about [name_u]James[/name_u] for a girl, so I say go for it! I was introduced to [name_u]Marie[/name_u]/Mari as a boy name so I don’t see a problem, I’m rambling now but the more I talk about it the more I love the idea even more

I personally see [name_u]Marie[/name_u] as feminine, I can’t really imagine it on a boy. I do like [name_m]Marius[/name_m] though!

Sure. I’m tired of the inherent sexism in the unidirectional borrowing of names.

I think if it’s a family name it makes sense.

Definitely usable. I’ve considered [name_m]Henry[/name_m] for a girl’s middle
