I voted “negative” but actually, I need a middle category. i like both names, but the “elle” sound at the end of [name]Mariella[/name] and the beginning of [name]Elise[/name] make it a bit too matchy and a little difficult to say imo.
Thanks for input, but I would like to hear more opinions. The more people vote, the merrier.
Same! I love both names individually, but there’s too much “el” together.
I think using your signature names, [name]Mariella[/name] [name]Carys[/name], [name]Mariella[/name] [name]Esme[/name] and [name]Mariella[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name] would be great! Also like [name]Mariella[/name] [name]Eden[/name], [name]Mariella[/name] [name]June[/name], [name]Mariella[/name] [name]Phoebe[/name] etc.
Agree on the ‘el’ sound overload and I am sorry but [name]Elise[/name] just isn’t my favorite name. Have you considered just the [name]Marielle[/name] ending and a completely unrelated mn like [name]Marielle[/name] [name]Julia[/name]? A similar name might be [name]Estelle[/name]. I think [name]Estelle[/name] [name]Carys[/name] has a lovely sound/meaning. =]
I like both names separately but I agree with others when said together, there’s just too much “el” sound in there. I think I would go with a middle name with a harder sounding consonant at the beginning. If you like French names like [name]Elise[/name], what about:
[name]Mariella[/name] [name]Camille[/name]
[name]Mariella[/name] [name]Corinne[/name]
[name]Mariella[/name] [name]Clarisse[/name]
[name]Mariella[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
I actually like the repeating /l/ sounds in this case. I think [name]Mariella[/name] [name]Elise[/name] flows easily off the tongue.
The meter is wrong in addition to the repetitive L sound. If you chop off the E to get [name]Mariella[/name] [name]Lise[/name], it works from a metrical perspective (though many hearers will unfortunately mistake is for [name]Marielle[/name] [name]Elise[/name]).
I think you need a one-syllable middle name to flow with, and balance, the 4-syllable first. Since the stress is on the third syllable in [name]Mariella[/name], you need the stress to be on the first syllable of the middle (obviously done if you only have one syllable to begin with).
I would avoid Ls and try to pick something staring with a consonant sound to delineate between mariell-[name]AH[/name] and the middle. I see you like [name]Tena[/name] in your signature-- what do you think of [name]Mariella[/name] [name]Tyne[/name]?
[name]Love[/name] suggestion of [name]Mariella[/name] [name]Esme[/name], not even liking the others. [name]Marielle[/name] [name]Camilla[/name] sounds lovely, but I it’s not my style. [name]Mariella[/name] [name]Lise[/name] remined me of [name]Marielle[/name] [name]Lisa[/name]. It’s suitable alternative?
[name]How[/name] do you pn [name]Lise[/name]? Please, could you give an audio or video, because I suck at writing pn. [name]Tyne[/name] is horrible, no matter how do you pn it.
I think both names are fine individually but it’s too much ‘el’ sound close together. I agree with the previous comments on it needing a consonant beginning middle name - based on names in your sig, how about:
[name]Mariella[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Mariella[/name] [name]Carys[/name]
[name]Mariella[/name] [name]Melody[/name]
I’d advise something non -a ending as well for a better flow but most of the names in your sig have that ending, with a bit of tweaking you could do something like:
[name]Mariella[/name] [name]Julie[/name]
[name]Mariella[/name] [name]Florence[/name]
[name]Mariella[/name] [name]Christine[/name]
It’s hard as a lot of your names start with the al/el sound which doesn’t work well with the -ella ending.
[name]Marielle[/name] [name]Lisa[/name] doesn’t completely work, it’s the ell/lee trying to say two L sounds back to back makes it a bit abrupt. I’d advise a name starting with another sound:
[name]Marielle[/name] [name]Delilah[/name]
[name]Marielle[/name] [name]Claudia[/name]
[name]Marielle[/name] [name]Rebecca[/name]
[name]Lise[/name] = Leeez (the French way) or Leeees (the English way). It’s like [name]Elise[/name] with the first E chopped off. As I said, though, even though [name]Lise[/name] would fix the meter, you still have the problem with repetitive sounds.
I can see you favor more classic and feminine names, so perhaps [name]Tyne[/name] wasn’t the best suggestion. It’s the kind of sound that you need though-- something with consonants to help delineate the two names when spoken aloud.
If you like the hard C in [name]Claudia[/name] and [name]Carys[/name], [name]Mariella[/name] [name]Claire[/name] could work.
Other classic, consonant-rich, 1-syllable girls’ names:
[name]Bette[/name]
[name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Fleur[/name]
[name]Gwen[/name]
[name]Jane[/name]
[name]Joyce[/name]
[name]June[/name]
[name]Kate[/name]
[name]Lourdes[/name]
[name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Maude[/name]
[name]Neve[/name]
[name]Niamh[/name]
[name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Rose[/name]
[name]Grace[/name]
[name]Hope[/name]
[name]Faith[/name]
[name]Tess[/name]
[name]Lise[/name] is pronounced exactly like the word “Lease,” or like [name]Lisa[/name] with no a. I was going to suggest that as well- I think the flow is a lot better with [name]Lise[/name] than [name]Elise[/name] or [name]Lisa[/name], but I don’t think either are bad. [name]Mariella[/name] is beautiful!
