I’m absolutely in love with the name [name]Marielle[/name]. I would love to use the nickname “[name]Ellie[/name]” (common, I know, but I’m in love with it). My husband said the name “[name]Marielle[/name]” is okay. I suggested other names - [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Estelle[/name], [name]Estella[/name], [name]Eliza[/name], [name]Elena[/name], [name]Alana[/name], and a few other similar names and he strongly dislikes them.
Does anyone have any suggestions similar to [name]Marielle[/name] or atleast unlike the other names I could throw out to him? It would be greatly appreciated. The middle name we are wanting to use is “[name]Claire[/name]”, and another name I considered was [name]Audrey[/name], which he also dislikes. He loves the name “[name]Mabry[/name]” which I’m not incredibly fond of. Obviously, we’re in a rut here! Thank you very much!
I love [name]Marielle[/name] and think it’s a lot more accessible then say [name]Mireille[/name] which sounds different but I think would be mispronounced here.
Thanks, ladies! I love [name]Annabelle[/name] but that’s my nieces’ name. I would consider [name]Brielle[/name]/[name]Arielle[/name] but my husband isn’t fond of those, either! Figures!
I also love “Marilyse”…I’ve never heard of it before. It would be nice to use because my grandmother’s name is “[name]Marilynn[/name]” and my mother/great-grandmother’s middle names are “[name]Marie[/name]” so it would honor both of them. I just don’t think my husband would want to name our daughter after my grandmother! ;/ He doesn’t like “dated” names. I’d have to trick him into it
I love [name]Marielle[/name]! I have a gorgeous friend named [name]Marielle[/name], so I might be biased but… And [name]Ellie[/name] is a gorgeous. I’m not usually a nick name fan, but [name]Ellie[/name] is the exception!
I think you can easily find a happy medium, where you can honor your grandmother with a variant of [name]Mary[/name] but stay comfortably away from the blue-rinse image.
[name]Marissa[/name] is an option (most guys like -issa names since they think they sound like hot girls)
[name]Mariah[/name]
[name]Amara[/name]
[name]Annemarie[/name]
[name]Maren[/name]
[name]Marian[/name] (like Maid [name]Marian[/name])
[name]Mariel[/name] (as suggested above)
[name]Marin[/name]
[name]Marina[/name]
[name]Mariska[/name]
[name]Marjorie[/name]
Marseille
[name]Martine[/name]
[name]Samara[/name]
[name]Tamar/name
[name]Marielle[/name] is so pretty! If you love it, maybe try working on him a bit more… I like that you could get nn [name]Ellie[/name], [name]Marie[/name], or [name]Mari[/name]/[name]Mary[/name].
My best compromise suggestion for you is [name]Aubrey[/name] since it is in between [name]Audrey[/name] and [name]Mabry[/name].
Other ideas might be [name]Maeve[/name], [name]Merida[/name], [name]Elise[/name] or [name]Elaine[/name](to get nn [name]Ellie[/name]), [name]Opal[/name], [name]Coralie[/name], or what about moving [name]Claire[/name]/[name]Claira[/name] to the front and using [name]Marielle[/name] as the middle name? Good luck! =]
I love [name]Marielle[/name]!
