I’m still not expecting, but I’m having fun with combos all the same! Recently, I rediscovered the name Marilene, and I think it’s not only gorgeous, but the perfect honorary name for my family (Aunt [name_f]Marie[/name_f], best friend [name_f]Mary[/name_f], grandmother [name_f]Helen[/name_f], and Aunt [name_f]Elaine[/name_f], plus we’re [name_m]French[/name_m]). The problem is, everybody in the US would pronounce it mary-leen or [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f], I think anyway. Being part [name_m]French[/name_m], I pronounce it mah-ree-ill-enn. (maybe Marileine is the spelling I’m going for?) It’s like [name_f]Marie[/name_f]-[name_f]Ellen[/name_f] with a [name_m]French[/name_m] accent. So, like my other unpronounceable favorite [name_f]Marie[/name_f]-[name_f]Aimee[/name_f], I’m designating it to a possible middle name.
I’m wondering what you guys think would go with Marilene, or [name_f]Marie[/name_f]-[name_f]Aimee[/name_f] for that matter. I’m a big fan of [name_m]French[/name_m] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]- combos, especially in the middle, but they aren’t super easy to match. Ideas?
I really like Marilene, and was also considering Marilu. Other names I love are Esmerie and [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] and Laurien and Darienne. I suggest pciking a name that you can live with no matter how it gets pronounced.
Ooh, I like [name_f]Marie[/name_f]-[name_f]Therese[/name_f]! (pronouncing it the right way, of course) [name_f]Marie[/name_f]-[name_f]Louise[/name_f] and [name_f]Marie[/name_f]-[name_f]Rose[/name_f] are pretty too!
I thought of a pretty first name to go with them, finally: I think [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] Marilene sounds appealing despite the alliteration. And I’ll probably be spelling it [name_f]Marie[/name_f]-[name_f]Helene[/name_f], since I found out that Marilene is a contraction of [name_f]Marie[/name_f]-[name_f]Helene[/name_f], and, so long as my future daughter knows that her middle name is [name_m]French[/name_m], will be pronounced right. Thanks for the suggestions!
