Marinina

today’s unusual name of the day, [name_f]Marini[/name_f], reminded me of the name Marinina (not made up by the way) which I can’t find on nameberry
I met a Marinina once and I thought it was (while not my style) interesting and like a more fun and
spunky version of [name_f]Marina[/name_f]
What do you think?

I think it’s ok, but not really one I like much. I prefer [name_f]Marina[/name_f]. There’s something about Marinina that just doesn’t feel right when I say it. Can’t really put my finger on exactly what, though. I’m not a fan of names ending in -ina in general, though.

It sounds way too close to marinara. As in, the Italian sauce. I prefer [name_f]Marina[/name_f], [name_f]Marin[/name_f], or [name_f]Nina[/name_f]. You could get the best of both worlds, of course by first name [name_f]Marin[/name_f], middle name [name_f]Nina[/name_f]!

I dislike Marinina as I found myself continually getting tongue-tied. I prefer [name_f]Mariana[/name_f].

It looks like a mistype of [name_f]Marina[/name_f]. When I say it, I’m tempted to rhyme it with marinara. And when I look at it, my eyes feel strained.

I’m not sure how to say it. Which syllable gets stressed?
