I not having a child any time soon, but I wanted to see your opinions on [name]Mariposa[/name]. It’s the Spanish word for butterfly. I love [name]Posy[/name], and the only other full name for it is [name]Josephine[/name], which never made sense to me. Is [name]Mariposa[/name] too outlandish? Is [name]Posy[/name] a good nickname for [name]Mariposa[/name]?
Personally, I think that [name]Mariposa[/name] is actually a really beautiful name with a lovely meaning. [name]Way[/name] to think outside the box on that one. Plus, [name]Posy[/name] is an absolutely adorable nn.
It wouldbe cute to meet a little [name]Mariposa[/name]. Awww.
I actually have known several [name]Mariposa[/name]'s and their names have never been a problem or hindrance to them. I think [name]Mariposa[/name]'s a lovely name and The butterfly has personal meaning for me. And [name]Posy[/name] is an adorable nickname as well 
I totally agree about the [name]Josephine[/name] thing, and I love [name]Mariposa[/name] nn [name]Posy[/name]!! [name]Don[/name]'t be afraid to use [name]Posy[/name] by itself though, if that’s what you really love!

I’ve heard that in some parts of the world, [name]Mariposa[/name] is a derogatory term for a gay man. [name]Just[/name] so you’re aware. I do think (in a vacuum where the word wasn’t used for that purpose) that [name]Mariposa[/name] NN [name]Posy[/name] would be adorable if not for that.
I love [name]Mariposa[/name] and the meaning is adorable! [name]Posy[/name] is an adorable NN for it. [name]Just[/name] so know nameberry also lists [name]Posy[/name] as a NN for [name]Sophia[/name] which I think is also adorable if you aren’t in love with [name]Mariposa[/name].

[name]Just[/name] an FYI–There used to be a chain of stores called [name]Mariposa[/name], not sure if they are around anymore.
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Mariposa[/name]. What a beautiful meaning. Butterflies symbolize new beginnings, as do, in my opinion, a new born child. What a special name. [name]Posy[/name] could easily come from [name]Mariposa[/name] although I prefer [name]Posie[/name].
