Marliya?

What are your thoughts on Marliya?

([name_f]Mar[/name_f]-lee-uh)

I have never heard of this before. It looks like a Russian form of [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. It looks like [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] scrambled and sounds like [name_u]Marley[/name_u] with an a at the end. I guess it is pretty, I’m just not that crazy about it.

I think it’s a little clunkier to pronounce than other similar names.

[name_m]Way[/name_m] too clunky.

I though I posted a response to this already… hmm…

Anyway! I like the spelling [name_f]Marlea[/name_f] better! But otherwise, I think it’s a pretty name.

I agree about it being clunky. Marliya somehow manages to blend with both the -lee crowd ([name_u]Marley[/name_u], [name_f]Miley[/name_f], [name_f]Millie[/name_f], [name_f]Carly[/name_f], [name_u]Harley[/name_u], etc.) AND the nouveau frilly names ([name_f]Aaliyah[/name_f], [name_f]Malia[/name_f], [name_f]Mariah[/name_f], [name_f]Makayla[/name_f], etc.), so to me it’s not a super distinctive name. That isn’t necessarily bad. Blend-y names are easy to mistake for other similar names, but they also probably won’t get the reaction of “oh that’s…interesting.” They’re palatable, but not distinctive.

Not my favorite

It’s not bad. I have a great aunt [name_f]Marlea[/name_f] and I prefer that spelling.

Thanks for all the feedback. I was curious about people’s opinions!

[name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name however not the spelling. What about [name_f]Malia[/name_f] or Marlia? I do however love the suggestion of [name_f]Marlea[/name_f]:).
