[name_u]Marlow[/name_u] or [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] with middle [name_m]Cole[/name_m] or [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. Is this too feminine now of a name to give to a boy? I have never met a [name_u]Marlow[/name_u] but it sounded so masculine to me until I found out it was being given to girls. Could the name work for a boy?
[name_f]Edit[/name_f] to add I was going to use nick name [name_u]Mars[/name_u] for him. He is being born in [name_f]Florida[/name_f] so I enjoy the beach association with driftwood and the fact most of his baby clothing and blankets are space theme related.
Same, it’s always been a masculine name for me. I don’t know anyone with the name [name_u]Marlow[/name_u] but I know a boy called [name_u]Marley[/name_u]. I’d say use it because it’s a beautiful name - I prefer [name_u]Marlow[/name_u] [name_m]Cole[/name_m].
I love [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] and [name_u]Marlow[/name_u] for a boy and [name_u]Marlow[/name_u] [name_m]Cole[/name_m] is brilliant!
[name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] is my personal favourite spelling because it reminds me of [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u], but I think [name_u]Marlow[/name_u] looks slightly more ‘masculine’. [name_u]Mars[/name_u] is great nn!
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] on both. [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] looks more complete to me. I like [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] [name_m]Cole[/name_m] a lot.
My first thought is that [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] is a girl. [name_u]Marlow[/name_u] I think should still work for a boy. You may get the occasional confusion but I don’t think it is a popular enough name to warrant a strong association to girls. [name_u]Mars[/name_u] is a cute nickname and I love your reasons
I’ve only met one [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u], a girl, but I’ve always thought the name would be super handsome for a boy! It’s one of the only names I like for both. [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] [name_m]Cole[/name_m] is really great!
I love [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] for a boy. I actually know a little girl called [name_u]Marlow[/name_u]/e (can’t remember which spelling) and love it on her but I think I actually prefer it for boys.
In regard to spelling, I always feel [name_u]Marlow[/name_u] is incomplete but that’s just a personal preference.
I think [name_u]Marlow[/name_u] works well for a boy! I prefer [name_u]Marlow[/name_u] [name_m]Cole[/name_m] to [name_u]Marlow[/name_u] [name_m]Leo[/name_m].
I have to admit that I am completely biased, my dog is named [name_u]Marlow[/name_u] (often nicknamed [name_u]Mars[/name_u]) and that name would have gone to my son if I hadn’t gotten my dog first. So needless to say, I love it! I absolutely adore the nickname [name_u]Mars[/name_u] (I honestly sometimes wish I could’ve saved it for my son) and I think the [name_u]Marlow[/name_u] spelling looks the most masculine. [name_u]Marlow[/name_u] [name_m]Cole[/name_m] is lovely.
[name_u]Marlow[/name_u] [name_m]Cole[/name_m] was born on 3/12 and I selected that name right away. I couldn’t do it with the (e) on the end I felt more masculine as [name_u]Marlow[/name_u]. He seems to fit the name. Thank you for the advice and encouragement everyone.
I first heard the name [name_u]Marlow[/name_u] as a surname on a show I was watching. I absolutely loved the name! In my opinion it sounded feminine and I intended on using it for a baby girl, but over time it started sounding more and more masculine to me. I perfer [name_u]Marlow[/name_u] [name_m]Cole[/name_m] over [name_u]Marlow[/name_u] [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. [name_u]Marlow[/name_u] [name_m]Cole[/name_m] is adorable! Personally, I wouldn’t add the e at the end because I find it more feminine.
