I like [name]Marlow[/name]… The ‘e’ looks unneeded. GL

I agree, I like [name]Marlow[/name].

I like “[name]Marlowe[/name].” The extra “e” reminds me of Elizabethan writer [name]Christopher[/name] [name]Marlowe[/name], who was a wild and crazy kid in his time! (I am an English lit professor, so my attraction to the name probably isn’t too surprising.)

I actually say these slightly differently. [name]Marlowe[/name]= [name]Mar[/name]-[name]LOWE[/name]. [name]Marlo[/name]- [name]MAR[/name]-lo. With [name]Olive[/name], I feel like [name]Marlowe[/name] flows better. [name]Olive[/name] stresses the first syllable and [name]Marlowe[/name] the second.

I voted for [name]Marlowe[/name], but like others, I prefer [name]Marlow[/name].

Thanks for the replies. Interesting that many favor the “[name]Marlow[/name]” spelling. I always thought this one looked a little incomplete, but it may be worth considering.

I vote [name]Marlowe[/name] but I like [name]Marlow[/name] too. Are you dead set on [name]Olive[/name]? Because I think [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Marlow[/name]/[name]Marlowe[/name] sounds prettier.

I love [name]Marlo[/name]/[name]Marlowe[/name], but I don’t care for it with [name]Olive[/name]. Of course, it depends on your last name, too.

My trouble with [name]Olive[/name] [name]Marlowe[/name] is that they’re both two-syllable names with the same/similar rhythm, so it wounds up sounding very flat. However, if you have a very short or very long last name, it might work.

[name]Olive[/name] [name]Marlowe[/name] seems complete to me. The O’s in [name]Olive[/name] [name]Marlo[/name] bother the eye. But that’s just my opinion.

[name]Marlowe[/name] is the spelling I prefer. I definitely second the suggestion of [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Marlowe[/name]. [name]Olive[/name] [name]Marlowe[/name] just sounds off to me.

I am going to second [name]Marlowe[/name] for its association with [name]Christopher[/name] [name]Marlowe[/name].

I agree, also, [name]Marlo[/name] is the name of a small fishing town here in [name]Victoria[/name], Australia in which I have frequently holidayed, so for that reason, I prefer [name]Marlowe[/name].

I like [name]Marlo[/name] best. My best friend growing up was named [name]Marlo[/name], so that might be why…No matter which spelling you choose I know it will suit her, though. And many congratulations on your pregnancy!! It sounds like this will be a much loved little girl!!!

Last name sounds like “[name]Garrison[/name].” I also wasn’t crazy about “[name]Olive[/name] [name]Marlowe[/name]”, but I think when said with the last name it sounds better.

And yeah, we are 100% set on [name]Olive[/name]…that’s not changing. Thanks all!

Congratulations on your little girl! I love the name [name]Olive[/name] and think [name]Olive[/name] [name]Garrison[/name] sounds wonderful. I prefer [name]Marlowe[/name] spelling over [name]Marlo[/name] but wonder if [name]Miriam[/name] would appeal to you as a middle. It has the M sound as [name]Marlowe[/name] but 3 syllables so better flow with [name]Olive[/name]. Plus it means “long awaited child” which seems appropriate.

[name]Olive[/name] [name]Marlo[/name]/[name]Marlowe[/name] is a beautiful name, either way you decide to spell it! I think you should let your wife pick the spelling, though.

I have the opposite reaction to the above post. I think [name]Olive[/name] [name]Marlo[/name] is pleasingly symmetrical.

I like [name]Marlow[/name] the best, but out of your choices I chose [name]Marlowe[/name] (:

Yes, I agree.
